SBI Debit Card – Reward Points Not Credited

Hi Everyone,


I’ve been facing an issue with SBI debit card reward points and wanted to check if anyone here has experienced something similar.


I made a Myntra purchase using my SBI debit card in December 2024 amounting >7000 Rs, along with few other online transactions including bill payments since then, but no reward points have been credited for any of them. I created my SBI Rewardz account in August 2025, and it still only shows 200 points — which are just for downloading the YONO app and the SBI Rewardz app.


I’ve emailed SBI customer care multiple times related to no reward points for myntra transaction, but every time they say they’ll “look into it in 15–20 days.” It’s already been over two months, and there’s still no resolution. I’ve also registered a complaint with the RBI Ombudsman on 22nd September, and I’m currently waiting for their response.

It seems like none of my physical or virtual debit card is generating any reward points.


Has anyone else faced this issue or found a solution? Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

For activating the debit card on rewardz portal only the activation using customer ID on rewardz portal is required or I have to register my DC also somewhere?
Registration is enough.

I've registered on rewardz portal using the customer ID around 50 days back while my DC is >365 days. So shall I wait for 40-90 more days?
I know for new DC/new accounts. It's usually 90-120 days, but for new registration on sbirewardz. I believe it must be lower. Try calling sbi rewardz team and tell them:

Your account is old
Your DCs are old

But you have recently registered on sbirewardz. So, could you please create a ticket for the backend to map my DC to the sbi rewardz so I start getting points.

RBI complaint won't help you, SBI rewardz is completely different thing. There is no escalation.

The account is quite old now >1 year.
The physical debit card which I used for myntra spend is of same age(>1 year) whereas virtual debit card is 4 months old.
The rewards portal registration in 2-3 months old.
 
Same case with a person I know. Their stupid support team kept bullshitting but then credited manually when complained to RBI.
Even if they manually credit it for this transaction it seems like there is some issue with my account and i am not getting any reward points. Complaining for each transaction will be a hassle. Did your friend start receiving reward points normally once they credited manually?

Seems like your debit card is not activated on rewardz portal. New DC registration usually takes 90-120 days for showing points.

Keep doing your transactions, you will eventually receive points. Your DC is not activated, that's the reason you haven't got points yet.

Like I said, this usually takes 90-120 days. But make sure to raise a complaint verbally on call. That is much faster.

Called the SBI Rewardz customer support, but they said that there is already a complaint registered regarding my reward points issue through email and asked me to wait few more days. Even after asking multiple times to create a ticket to backend to map my DC the support didn't do it saying they cant until the previous complaint is closed.


Is there anything else i can do or waiting is the only option forward here?

Then you can only wait mate, and you can continue doing your transactions. All of your transactions will automatically show up.

No. He didn't not received rps for later txns. But yeah it's a hassle to complaint everything. He has just stopped using it.

After yesterday's call I received a mail from SBI Stating that they tried to reach me out but unable to do so and my reward ponits are credited. Upon checking I have received all the reward points till date including unipay transactions. Thanks a lot for the help.

I regret my earlier decision for not using the card for 1lakh+ amounted transaction as reward points were not being credited.

Anyways thanks a lot.

One more query, I saw in your other post that these DC reward points can be used for CC bill payment. Can you please guide on how to redeem as CC bill payment?

After yesterday's call I received a mail from SBI Stating that they tried to reach me out but unable to do so and my reward ponits are credited. Upon checking I have received all the reward points till date including unipay transactions. Thanks a lot for the help.

My pleasure, I know how their system works anyway coming to your second query, unfortunately that option is disabled now. You can redeem those points for bill payments, etc.
