It would be better return especially if you convert to Accor. If your possible locations have Accor and you like the chain, then it may be best bet.

For the present time, HSBC Travel One is the best. Additionally, you can try for Axis Horizon. Also check if you have any existing Axis card. Check if anyway possible to upgrade and get Atals.

In my understanding, for HSBC Trave one, joining fee only get partially recovered by welcome benefit - Rs. 4000 ( Rs.1000 cashback + 3000 rp) out Rs 5899. Am I missing anything here?

HSBC premier credit card is giving 20k points as joining bonus for 12k joining fees. If one uses that for accor, it will be worth rs 40 k. There is no annual fees.

Only pain is to meet premier account criteria. If one cannot have via salary account, other option will be via TRV of 40 lakh.

Is hsbc planning to increase the TRV?? Cause then it will become difficult to get this card.

I personally don't mind paying the joining fee/annual fee if i can derive the value in multiples. By the way, in terms of accor, you get 6000rs back + 1000rs cashback.
