So, for a long time now, I had 3 HDFC bank CC: HDFC Moneyback+ (my first CC), Swiggy and TATA Neu Plus. I never got any LE or any upgrade offers up until a few weeks back when I saw some offers to upgrade to HDFC Biz Grow (Paid). So, I obviously didn't heed any mind to it as this was really not a good upgrade lmao...
But then one day I saw something shining amidst the piles of "Loan on CC" & "biz grow" named craps:

Now, this was highly unlikely that it was meant for me(Also proved in my old post where I stated that it redirected to Biz-Grow), but nevertheless, it was sent to my official number from their official handle " JM-HDFCBANK"
So as the next most logical step, I asked this community here what to do in my Previous Technofino post, where nikhilv0303 and Kabir_1112 told me to go for it.
So, I mailed their Grievance cell first as their customer service line is pretty dumb. But to my surprise, the grievance cell asked me to wait for 2 whole weeks and then asked me to give my consent for the upgrade, terms and finally a cibil check(which I honestly didn't mind).
But after providing my consent, they hit me with a requirement for salary slips and income details. Normally, I wouldn't have any problem sharing my salary slips, but as I didn't qualify for the Regalia Gold purely on the basis of income criteria, I didn't wanna risk it lmao, plus, it felt pretty weird to ask for a salary slip again for an upgrade for a "Pre-approved offer" from their end and when I already hold 3 cards from their side.
So, after being hit with this bombshell, I was left a bit dizzzy about my further choices when a random HDFC bank spam call from Mr Gh**h came in clutch. It was your regular spam call about a pre approved loan on my CC, but I took that opportunity to ask him about CC upgrades. If banks sent you the upgrade offer from their end, do we still needed to provide income details or if CIBIL Hit was mandatory or not?, he replied with utmost sincerity and confidence that it wasn't needed and that he could see my upgrade offer to Biz-grow card there (Obviously because that was my original offer and not the RG one). So I told him, irrespective of the card type if what he says is true or not and he affirmed.
"For any upgrade offer from HDFC Bank's end, you don't need to provide any further income details, nor will a CIBIL hit be accrued" (Which I obviously kept a call recording of)
After that some more things happened, they closed my original case number, then opened two separate ones, both again demanding income proofs and Salary slips. But on 3rd november, I just said enough is enough. With the help of Gemini mausi, I drafted an email and sent it to priority redressal and CCed it to PNO HDFC.
Within the next day I got a message from Grievance cell that they know they are gonna get a boop on the nose by PNO & are working towards resolving my queries.
Immediately on the next day, I could see my card details on the app, and even got a few messages confirming the same!
Finally I got my bluedart tracking info today! So, overall a very happy ending!
Anyways, always keep receipts of every single transaction, notification and call recordings while interacting with banks. You never know when one might get lucky!
