Got the IndusInd Pioneer Account & Pinnacle Credit Card LTF — Tweaked my existing IndusInd portfolio for this upgrade!

Read the first part to understand my existing relationship with IndusInd Bank before getting the Pioneer account.
First Part

Here’s a quick recap — I initially had the IndusInd Select Account, and later got the Legend Credit Card linked to it for 0 MAB.

I got my existing IndusInd Select Account upgraded to Exclusive in June 2025 through my VRM. She called one day, saying I was eligible for an upgrade, and since I was maintaining over ₹1 lakh for a month, I went for it.

After that, I tried for a Pinnacle Credit Card LTF/Conditional LTF through CC — but it got rejected.

A few weeks later, my IDFC DBM moved to IndusInd Bank as the BM of my nearest branch. While chatting with her, I brought up the Pinnacle LTF upgrade again. She tried but couldn’t get it done, instead offered a Grande Account to make the upgrade possible. I preferred going with the Pioneer Account instead — mainly for the Metal Debit Card and its benefits. Plus, I needed to park some emergency funds for my parents in FDs, so it made sense.

I completed all documentation on 13th September 2025 (evening).
Account opened: 17th September
DC generated & delivered: within 5–6 days

It’s a new Pioneer Account in addition to my Exclusive account. I gave consent for my Legend CC (₹4.62L) upgrade to Pinnacle CC on 18th September, and the upgrade was completed around 21st–22nd September. Before that, I split ₹30K to my EazyDiner Platinum and kept ₹4.32L in Legend.

Important note — with Pioneer, banks usually offer Pioneer Legacy LTF, not Pinnacle Grande LTF. They had committed LTF for Pioneer, and I did get approval accordingly.

Further additions:
  • Pioneer Add-on 1: 27th September
  • Pioneer Add-on 2: 11th October

About the Metal Debit Card:
Initially, my branch wasn’t aware of the process. They said I’d need a ₹20L CASA balance. But after checking with existing Pioneer users, I found out it only requires a form submission + ₹10L in the account. That worked — though the process was delayed slightly due to festive holidays.

Now, I’ve got my Pioneer Legacy Credit Card LTF, linked against a ₹3L FD lien.

🔹 Summary

  • Accounts: 1 Exclusive + 1 Pioneer + 2 Pioneer Add-ons
  • Cards:
    • Legend (₹4.62L) → Split ₹30K to ED Platinum
    • Upgraded to Pinnacle (₹4.32L, Conditional LTF)
    • Added Pioneer Legacy LTF (₹3L FD-backed)
Pinnacle CC linked with my Exclusive account = 0 MAB

Did they close your existing Legend CC before offering Pinnacle CC as LTF?
I spoke with my branch folks. They say, I have to close my current CC, wait for 3 months and then apply for Pinnacle freshly as a conditional LTF.

I actually missed the Independence sr citizen ltf 0 MAB Pioneer acct offer. Only if axis had not goofed up... Anyways I'll watch out for next year if possible...

I visited the branch today and they are saying that you can open Pioneer saving account with initial 10 Lakh fund and you can withdraw it once it get opened. So should i go with exclusive or pioneer saving banking.

2 months update:
Got 5 indusind pioneer accounts opened within family. Withdrew 9.5L in 3 days after acc opening. Currently of all 5 accounts, I am maintaining maybe max of 50-75K combined.

Easily got metal DC for all accounts without any hassle or any maintenance.

So in short. I have 5 pvc and 5 metal debit cards of pioneer in family with no drama of NMC or MAB due to this freedom offer.

Same.
Missed the Sr Citizen offer due to RM, I should have gone to a different branch and get things done.

Massive devaluation in Pioneer account from 2026-

Guys my advice is stay away from this account now. Its absolute shit now.

The latest revisions to Pioneer account is making this whole HNI pioneer program even shittier. Extremely lame.
Basically whatever limited USP this had over other HNI programs, this will destroy it even further.

What an absolute shitshow by Indusind Bank. Any sane person will not avail this banking.

Devaluations:
-Metal card discontinued
-BMS movie offer value reduced
-BMS non mobie and movie offer limited to B1G1 per day
-3K spend based domestic lounge access from March 2026
-It never had any international lounge anyways
-NMC charges introduced.
-Already has an extremely shit savings account interest rate

Why the hell would anyone sane even touch this shitty banking program even with a 1 feet pole?

Am I missing something?

I already opened 5 Pioneer accounts couple months back within my family

Yes, it’s a major cost-cutting move and definitely a drawback. This was the only standout feature compared to competitors like IDFC and ICICI Wealth.

-BMS movie offer value reduced
I am happy with the move. 750 BOGO is enough for Movies. Already, 1K BOGO is a waste or underutilized for most of the quarter.

-BMS non mobie and movie offer limited to B1G1 per day
Very Bad move previously, we can use all 4 in a single go.

-3K spend based domestic lounge access from March 2026
Easily accessible compared to other Banks, and the Lounge list is huge compared to other cards.

Yes, NMC is a bummer. My BM said not to worry, no NMC will not be charged. Yes, Interest rate slabs are very bad and low interest rates.

Why the hell would anyone sane even touch this shitty banking program even with a 1 feet pole?
Yes, if you already have a Pioneer account, it’s fine. But getting a new one right now doesn’t make much sense. Better to stay away. Everyone is safe at least until March 2026, and if you don’t really need it, consider closing it.

I opened my account in September this year, and here are a few things I noticed: the account opening process is very slow, and regular branches aren’t equipped to handle Pioneer accounts. Most are not even aware of basic processes like applying for the Metal DC. Apart from the debit card, there’s nothing particularly special in terms of service for Pioneer.

I also heard that if you want to close your IndusInd account, you must surrender everything associated with it. First time hearing this. Even cheque books and debit cards.

I’ve kept a backup plan, and if it helps anyone, feel free to use it. I got the Pinnacle CC and kept my primary single account as Exclusive. So, if they ever impose NMC on my account in the future, I can simply downgrade the Pioneer accounts, merge them into the Exclusive account, and then block/reissue the debit cards. I already maintain more than the required MAB with IndusInd, just not entirely in the savings account. The BM said there’s nothing to worry about, but let’s see.

Well said bro! I agree to all!
Actually I have 10 debit cards within my family and no one uses them accept me so somehow need to use all of them for 3k transaction criteria for lounge. You are right that lounge list is massive and 3k per quarter is really easy!

To keep my Primary Exclusive Account to 0 MAB.
In the future, I might not continue the Pioneer Relationship, so Pioneer Legacy will not retain any savings account at 0 MAB.
With Pinnacle, I have access to 5 LTF DCS on a single account at 0 MAB.
did not understand pioneer legacy part.
I also hold pioneer legacy cc and pioneer savings account.

If I close savings a/c , legacy cc will be chargable? as of now it is LTF
