I recently tried to open a salary savings account with PNB through their online portal, but ran into an issue during the application process. The online form got stuck and wouldn't let me submit the application. I filed a complaint through PNB's online grievance system.

The very next day, I received a call from the PNB branch I had selected in my complaint/application. They asked me about the error I encountered and seemed a bit puzzled, but then offered to send a representative to my home to complete the account opening process offline. The same day, the PNB representative arrived at my doorstep and collected all the necessary documents. They were able to open the account for me using their tablet device.

Although they had promised to issue me an Imperial debit card, I ended up receiving an Excel Rupay Select debit card instead. When I reached out to the representative about this, she apologized and advised me to use the card once, so they could then hotlist it and issue the correct Imperial debit card. I followed her instructions, and after redeeming all the available offers on the Excel Rupay Select card, I informed them. I received the new Imperial debit card within four days, This was much faster than the 12-day delivery time for the initial Excel card.

I inquired with the bank about what would happen if I did not credit my salary to the account every month, and they admitted they were unsure about the consequences.

The process of adding two add-on debit cards was also smooth. I simply went to the branch and filled out a form, providing the details of the additional cardholders. I'm now waiting to receive those add-on cards. They mentioned that add-on card are not free and chargeable, whereas primary debit card has no fee (i.e LTF).

I also inquired about Rupay Select credit card LTF offer for imperial salary account holders. Branch gave the agent number to apply for the card. I called him and he told me told me that the branch have to apply in some internal portal for the offer to applicable. He gave me the physical application form and select Rupay Salary Select card to get as LTF with no conditions and submit to the branch.

It is a mixed experience but I got the better benefit by redeeming Excel debit cards for free.

Edit:
The agent also offered PNB Luxura (metal) card to me. It offers nothing new for me or its benefits not appealing to me at all so I denied it. You can check card fee in the Latest Credit Card Application Form file in the 5th page. It has joining fee of 9500 and annual fee of 7500.

Did you happen to get stuck after the VKYC was completed. I've done the VKYC twice and stuck without completion even when the PNB agent on call said it's approved. When I had complained the contact person from PNB is also unware of what do next (as it appears so to me).

It got stuck even before VKYC. My suggestion is to open grievance and the branch will have to respond and address the issue though it is online application.

can i convert old titanium salary account to imperial?
I am not 100% sure, the only criteria for Imperial salary account is 1.5 L gross per month. My suggestion is to visit the branch. Your case requires account change which can only be done at the branch AFAIK.

Was there any requirement of Employer Connection, employment proof etc? I had gone to my closest bank to open this and they said they need the Employers Current Account to be in PNB to open Salary Account for me.

They only asked payslips and ITR for me. The salary is not even credited to the account.

Bro I have couple of questions
1. Is imperial debit card free for imperial salary account holder
2. I work for a private company which does not have tie up with pnb or any psu , will they open my account as Salary imperia , salary > 1.5L
My 2nd query is there bcz when I went to SBI for opening salary account they said if job is not government then private company needs to have tie up with SBI to open a salary account

1. Primary cards is free, add on cards are paid
2. Yes, my company also doesn't have any tie up with any bank and PNB opened it for me with just payslips. All most all banks that I reached out never asked for company tie up, HDFC, ICICI, PNB, SBI, AU and HSBC.

So imperial account is opened first , then need to shift salary account?

I opened imperial salary account directly but it happened through offline.
During online fill up which scheme type you have chosen? As i can see in the Customer Type there is option of Salary/Wages. If i choose this then in next tab only i am seeing 5 scheme type including PNB Elite Saving (SBELA). So my question if i choose this then which account will be open Salary or Normal account.

I am not sure about that because my online application never completed but branch can directly open salary account with payslips, ITR and company id.

For imperial min salary should be greater than 1.5 Lakh as per doc. So can we create imperial salary account if the salary is below 1Lakh?
