I plan to hold my ICICI AMC shares for the long term. I have been allotted 12 shares.

However, 12 feels like an odd quantity for me, as I usually hold shares in round numbers such as 50, 100, 200, 250, 500, or 1000.
So, instead of selling, I plan to buy another 8 or 13 shares to make the total 20 or 25, if the price comes down a bit (below the ₹2,200 level).

It's a good strategy to invest more in fundamentally good and strong company, for long term growth appreciation.

Bharat Coking Coal Ltd IPO is expected to hit the market soon, as per the media.

Here’s a smart move before the rush starts:
  • Buy just 1 share of Coal India Ltd to become eligible for the potential shareholders’ quota in the BCCL IPO (subject to RHP confirmation).
  • Yes, even 1 share is enough to qualify as a shareholder on the record date in such PSU subsidiary IPO structures.
This is the same playbook used in earlier shareholder-quota IPOs like ICICI Prudential AMC, where simply holding 1 share of the parent (ICICI Bank) unlocked a separate application category and better allotment probability.

Most retail investors wake up only after the RHP is out.
Smart money gets in position before the headlines, when it still takes just one well‑timed share.

If valuations are fair, the relatively small issue size of around ₹1,500 crore means even the shareholders’ category could see heavy oversubscription, making allotment in that bucket quite difficult

Not financial advice. Just pattern recognition.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Definitely it's going to be very difficult for SH Quota to be fully effective here.

But, a 14 lot SH quota application should still hold some edge over 1 lot retail

Let's see though,
What if there is no scope of listing gains 😅😂

So lot of things have to be right to get some gains here!

Yes it is difficult to say if there is listing gain or not but Just in case it is useful, i don't want to be regretting.
