Are there any last minute airmiles discount?

I need to book IAD-BOM & return tickets for the 24th of June & 9th July and was wondering if there are any discounts that I can avail.

I know only about Singapore airlines spontaneous escapes. Any such similar program of other airlines?

i dont think u can book domestic flights with that transfer, read on a thread couple of months back that its only for international flights

True, many users have reported the same. It doesn't work for Air Asia domestic sectors.

Air France/KLM publishes award/promo fares on first of every month. In case you are not getting a good redemption else where, you can wait till June 1st and check with AF/KLM.

Typically the redemption in AF/KLM looks very poor to to extremely poor.. They are in competition with Emirates/ Etihad for poor redemption among the frontline carriers.

Try Aeroplan & Turkish Star airline redemption

No discounts on either, aeroplan is expensive at 70k miles one way. Turkish is cheaper at 55k miles

The charges are 50-70% of what a revenue ticket would cost so it hardly makes sense to use miles

Spontaneous escapes are mostly good if you're going to TO/FROM SIN. When you add in a SIN-IND leg the value greatly diminishes compared to a WHEREVER-IND ticket. Moreover it's not released for every sector or every date.

Go ahead and book whatever you can right now. Usually miles tickets don't have a very heavy cancellation fee. If you get a great deal later you can cancel and book elsewhere (provided you have a miles balance and all that other good stuff).

A lot depends upon the travel dates as well. I am tracking this route BOM-IAD for potential visit in October and RT economy is at 70K miles. I am holding on as I am not sure if those dates would work out for me.

70k miles for return tickets for US location is decent I think. Not sure one can get lesser than this.

AF is running a fantastic promo till 31/5 for very low miles esp. US - EU. Most cities covered by AF/KLM metal are available for less than 12k!

The fares have some $300+ surcharges though.
