Last minute booking airmiles discount

$300 return. It's quite a lot but that's EU carriers for you! At least the miles required is absurdly low.
Hmm. Redeeming through Star alliance is cheaper in terms of surcharges. Sunday I booked return ticket from BLR to European country and total surcharges was Rs. 9k around. Had to do through Krisflyer as Turkish has some issue(it's throwing error in last step when redeeming star alliance flights)

Yes 9K is extremely low.. typically more than 200 euros for a return ticket going upto 300 Euros.. Except for United
I booked through Krisflyer (Air India tickets). Turkish was also showing same surcharge amount but for some reason I am unable to book Air India ticket through them. If Turkish would be working I would have definitely bought from them as it's lesser points and same surcharge fees.

That solves the great mystery. I thought it you said you were on a EU carrier like LH or LX etc.

AI doesn't have YQ so yeah surcharges are very low.

A lot depends upon the travel dates as well. I am tracking this route BOM-IAD for potential visit in October and RT economy is at 70K miles. I am holding on as I am not sure if those dates would work out for me.
what do the surcharges look like?
Thanks for the help, I’ll check

Guys - if I purchase Aeroplan miles, then how soon it will be credited in my account.

They are running a promotional offer of 80% Bonus miles if I purchase now.
