I upgraded my zone to privilege (that was a big mistake) on 5th or 6th June my billing cycle is on 10th June they've dispatched the card and it's on way, I will receive it probably today or tomorrow, they've send me CC statement (joining fees 1500+ GST) billing date 10th June due date 30th June, my previous my zone card outstanding and unbilled were zero, have 2 other cards Flipkart and IOCL, so my query is if don't activate this privilege card do I still have to pay this bill or is it preactivated, they're sending pin via another courier DTDC and the card is arriving via bluedart, in the axis mobile app it's showing code required for activation as usual, please help, fed up with Axis already spoke with customer care (before receiving CC statement mail) he told me that's unbilled it will be billed on July.

I guess it needs to be paid as bill being generated
If you cancel it will be adjusted to your old card in this case.

But need to check if pre activated as it's an upgrade. Try to get it cancelled as it's not much worth.

I'm considering to cancel it after 9 to 10 months usage much before renewal fee date, spoke to customer care recently he's telling as it's an upgrade the bill has been adjusted to my old my zone, previous customer care guy wasn't able to provide me correct info🥴 that's it no apology nothing, cool, and yes it's pre activated, probably Kabuliwalas were better than these disguised ones.

As per RBI guidelines, the card cannot be pre-activated. You will have 30 days to activate the card, and if you fail to do so, it will be cancelled.

If you genuinely do not want the card, simply refrain from activating it. It's as simple as that. However, please be prepared for a potential dispute with Axis Bank, as it may not be an easy process.

You already having 3 cards...Still gone for previllage card..if you dont need the card then dont activate it but other part of the story is ,if you will not activate it then you must be prepared for long fight and escalations for Unbilled Joining fee...

Suggestion-After getting card via bluedart, call customare care and convince by Hook or crook to waive the joining fee of the card by Threatening to close the Privilege one or by convince them based on your existing good association with Axis. Afterall "where there is a will there is way"..(I have got the fee waiver for My IOCL rupay one by doing this way).

The easiest way to resolve this is to pay the joining fees, use the card for 9-10 months, and then cancel it. The alternative is the more challenging path, where you cancel the card and prepare yourself for a lengthy process of dealing with Axis Bank. Additionally, according to Axis, this card is considered their mid-premium card, not their entry-level card 🤣, so it's unlikely they will waive the joining fees. But there's no harm in trying, and good luck! 👍

It happened to me also with axis vistara infinite card before I could recieve pin and card.

Don't do this. It is not worth to do this for 1500 rupees. If they bill it and then you don't pay and then they report a missed payment, you will have to fight for CIBIL correction for months. For months your CIBIL will be down until you get a solution. Not to mention that since card will be cancelled you won't be able to find a way to settle bill yourself. Best is to use this card for 10-11 months since I think welcome vouchers are good with this card. Then when you will ask to close it they may reverse the joining fee too. Once fee is reversed you can close it.
