Hi Everyone,

I was going through Axis's credit card offering and I think most of them are simply ugly. I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder but Axis needs to up it's design game. If there are Axis Bank folks here then please take some cues from your competitors. Make card designs simple yet modern.

Please feel free to share the card designs that you think are cool. Please don't bash me up with the cards features. I am simply talking about their visual artwork.

I personally feel they look great. Axis Ace, Vistara Infinite, Magnus, Atlas look very classy and the red lining on the edges give them a very unique look. Which bank’s cards are you comparing it with?

I'm glad folks are talking about the design. I have been collecting cards from India, US and UK for a while now. This is what I've observed.
1. Axis cards have better design overall when compared with peers. Plus they have been updating the look of their cards lately which is great.
2. Same is the case with SBI Cards (exception-Cashback card) with Aurum being a real stunner. Its a clever design with metal wrapped in PVC.
3. HDFC tried their minimalistic design which ended well only for Diners Black and Regalia Gold (Millennia upto certain extent). Infinia looks a cheap copycat of Chase Sapphire Reserve/Preferred.
4. Emeralde is definitely the looker in ICICI's basket. I hope metal variant will make it look better only. Others are just too old and boring.
5. Amex designs are good not being too heavy on colors and branding. They have maintained their universal look in India which is a nice touch (bit dated). A refresh across the portfolio is long awaited.
6. I've heard IndusInd Pioneer metal looks nice, haven't seen in person. Kotak white looks okayish. Others are simply not worth mentioning in my opinion.

HSBC with the red border and holographic Lion look classy in my opinion. Terrible rewards but nice looking cards from HSBC !
HSBC have switched to vertical design for most of their cards globally. It's only India and some other places like Singapore where the old design is still in circulation. The new design looks good but heavily branded with so many icons and symbols. They could have shifted them easily on the back.

Emeralde with metal would be stunning. Hope ICICI will join the metal portfolio in near future.

TBH I am digging HSBC's new vertical designs. They are just simple.

Even Citibank India upped its game with their cards visual overhaul. HDFC is also garbage in terms of design. I mean why can't they hire designers. Who's designing these cards?! I am very curious.

This is a good one.
1) Axis has so many cards and I honestly think they are over doing it with their obssession with pink.
2) Aurum I agree its minimal with gold strip. Some of SBI's cards are good looking. SBI debit cards on the other hand are crap. Some one designed them on MS Paint.
3) Regalia Gold is the best minimalistic card. I agree with you. My Infinia metal looks bad. Not sure who chose the colors. Overall HDFC's cards visually look garbage. Look at infinia PVC or regalia, I just don't get the design. They need to take cues from HSBC.
4) Emeralde I agree. ICICI should move it to metal and make it vertical.
5) Amex's redesigned Gold charge is good, they need to fix the design of Platinum charge to match US version. I always loved AMEX corporate green. Wish they introduced Green Charge for personal use.
6) I never liked Indusind's logo. So never checked their cards. Sorry. I have issues,

But thanks mate!

Burgandy is the signature colour of Axis. This might be the reason behind their obsession. These are some of my UK cards with few others collecting dust in drawer. I personally like Chase the most. Once I got confused between Amex Plat Travel (IN) and Amex Cashback (UK) as they look same and spent some 350 GBP on the Indian card. Now only Magnus lives in my wallet.
