Amex points to Marriott

My dad uses an amex card and he has 20,000 points. Can I transfer them into my Marriot Bonvoy account ? Or that is not allowed ?

Trying to find a way to transfer it to my account.

I am not sure if Amex will allow the transfer to your account, however Marriot allows to transfer points between two accounts. The account needs to be in good standing and must have been open for at least 30 days if it has had qualifying activity. If an account hasn't had any qualifying activity in the past 30 days, it must have been open for at least 90 days.

You can transfer to his Marriot account and then internally transfer to your Marriot account

His account is not even open yet. But Can I use his account to book a room for me ? Then I can create an account right now and book a room for me.

You need to call Marriott member support and then inform that you want to gift a reservation to family. Please refer to the process mentioned in the link below.

You can transfer and book room. You can first try with transferring min points like 100 etc to see whether transfer is successful or not

I recently transferred points in my wife's card to my bonvoy account & they were transferred. Amex only asks for membership number nothing else. They say that point transfer will not be done but in my case it was done successfully.
