If someone is not a merchant and receives rent, is it safe to create his Merchant QR code (PhonePe, etc) and then receive rent via that merchant code into his savings account?

The payer will then get benefit of using HDFC Rupay CC on UPI. But isnt this a risk for receiver as he is not really a merchant?

You can make merchant qr code and accept rupay credit card UPI but rent payments count as your income as per income tax department

Yes, the rent is completely shown and accounted for in ITR. But merchant account is created by name of Ram Food Tiffin Services (example), but incoming payments are rent payments. Is it still safe?

Is you rent going to be under 2k ?

Above 2k, All merchant Service Provider will charge MDR.

And if you make multiple 2k payments, Service Provider may hold the Amount and may ask for invoices,
