I just received an SMS confirming this. Complimentary lounge access on your KMRL Axis Bank Kochi1 Card will be withdrawn effective 31-Dec'23.

This was a go-to card for many to access the domestic lounge at Cochin International Airport. There are many videos on YouTube too.

Axis Bank is stopping their lounge access program for Kochi metro prepaid card users.

It was a good feature. Without any extra charges, you could use 2 domestic or international lounges within India per quarter. The card is rupay platinum variant.

Now this is ending on Dec 31, 2023.

Yes, not just Cochin international airport, I have used it in Bangalore, Pune airports etc.

That is correct. I meant to say that many people I know specifically took the card to access the lounge at Cochin airport.

+ lounge access is being removed for many basic/mid-range cards. Getting a lounge access is actually becoming a luxury now.
I think the next trend will be plan-based cards like AU Lit, where one can recharge for Rs 149/- type of plans and use the lounge access or other such features.
