Does this PG varies within HDFC cards using Smartbuy? What is the condition for 1.9% to be levied?
PG Charge for PayZapp is 1.8 and Credit Card is 1%

Here we don't know that actually how much amount bank added to his transaction as we don't have any proof. He told that bank charged Rs 33 extra, so it's about 1.9 %, not 1%

We can only confirm this if we get the solid proof of how much amount deducted from card during transaction and how much amount is showing now after transaction settlement

I understand man, so that only I already said you are very precious to HDFC Bank

Are PG charges on credit cards (1% + GST) is applicable on failed booking also?

I did a irctc booking, the payment went through on card but it got failed from irctc. Does hdfc levy PG charges on this booking or not?

@1.9%+GST as PG charges
So I had a hunch we were being made to pay a lot extra than the apparent 1%+GST that we are shown on the website. I ignored it since HDFC Smartbuy uses IRCTC, and I did not have some concrete proof. But this time, it seems a bigger margin is being deducted as their PG charges. Do correct me if I am wrong.

So, I recently bought a couple of 2A tickets, and I saw that the PG charges were actually displayed in the ticket itself (good job IRCTC).

Received the following message from HDFC. Nothing wrong till here.

Now, that the transaction is settled, this was what was charged to my card account

3855.11 - 3755.4 = 99.71 = 2.6% of 3755.4. Its double of what the charges are expected to be. I am still not sure how they added ~60rs to what was expected. Feels like they just added 1%+GST to a pre existing 1%+GST 🙃. I tried to reconfirm if this was the case and not something one off, and purchased a cheaper 2S ticket, but the % still remains nearly the same.

While people may argue that 3x gives us more returns in terms of RP and we are making a net "profit", and HDFC may argue PG Charges as applicable (Additional) means they can charge whatever the F**k they want as "additional", I do feel folks should be aware before jumping into using Smartbuy.

PS: Used Business Regalia. Not sure if I am having to pay more charges just because it has a "Business" prefix.

The same case happened to me 6 months back ,
I complaint to hdfc but they are telling it's the PG fee levied by IRCTC , they can't do anything,
Then I asked what % should be deducted?
They said they didn't know about the rate , it depends on IRCTC

Avi chronology dekho,

I called IRCTC, they said they deducted 1%plus gst , anything extra has been levied by hdfc and smartbuy
Then I hung up , decided not to book on smartbuy although I am getting something profit

Not true in my case, even I did a trx with my Infinia for a 2AC ticket few days back and its correct.

They charge 1%+GST by Smartbuy. I got a otp sms with 4725.75 but the charge I got in my statement is of 4781.45 (Additional 1.18% of 4725.75 which means 1%+GST by smartbuy who is aggregator here)
