Help! Got DCP pre-approved but need Millennia

Hi,

I have Savings Max account (classic variant) in HDFC opened in April this year and have been maintaining a good amount of balance.

Last month, I received a pre-approved offer for Money Back+ card with limit 63k which I did not accept and this month recently, I got the Diners Club Privilege card offer (not sure on the limit).

I am looking for the Millennia card instead of DCP as I do not have any Travel (Flight/Hotel) related spends to make the most of DCP card and looking for better base reward structure card hence need Millennia instead.

Please advise how can I get Millennia as pre-approved card so that I can get the ₹1500 amazon voucher benefit, LTF by spending only 50k (vs 1Lac for DCP) and no hard inquiry.

I think if I wait, I would not be getting the downgraded offer as DCP is higher variant of Millennia hence need your suggestions.

@TechnoFino @bhavyegoel @Subhankar @ashwink @hashiro7 @007 Please share your advice on this

they normally accept downgrade request easily.
if you want to make your DCP card LTf, then you have to spend 1L in 90 days and 50K for millennia.
Okay thanks, just wondering if they would say I need to spend 1Lac to make either of the cards LTF as I was issued initially DCP...that would not be the case right? And I need to start spending (to reach 50k for LTF) only after I get Millennia right?

accept the offer, get DCP, after getting the card delivered, email hdfc grievance team for card downgrade to millennia.
I talked with my RM, he said as I have salary account and my company is listed and eligible to provide any HDFC cards (except DCB and Infinia) as unconditional LTF. The offer which is received as DCP pre-approved is also unconditional LTF it seems (though the pre-approved page says spend based LTF). On the downgrade to Millennia, he said they can proceed with the same once it completes min. 20 days after I get DCP. Before I proceed to apply the DCP, I asked RM to send me an email to confirm on unconditional LTF status so that it is captured in writing also, so he said he will do that. Can I proceed? @TechnoFino please advice

Yes, go ahead

HDFC is offering me Regalia and Indigo XL6 (Not sure why even they have this card in their portfolio) as an upgrade for my Millennia. However, I am more interested in opting for Dinners Club Privilege, which is not an option for me in the list of cards available for upgrade.

I reached out to customer care of HDFC, instead of making this upgrade process smooth, they are asking me to download an upgrade form fill it attach all the income documents and mail them to their Chennai address. Seriously HDFC, in these times who on planet earth has time go through such hassle to get an upgrade (Looks like you are still living in stone age). Also, I would have not mind this hassle had they agreed to upgrade my LTF millennia to LTF DCP. They are only offering DCP as FYF and not assuring me LTF DCP.

I decided to let go this upgrade offer for now and wait for the LTF in future.

Yes, go ahead
Hi @TechnoFino After getting the card, I have sent an email to customerservices.cards@hdfcbank.com to confirm on unconditional LTF status but received response that it is chargeable card. As I had email communications from my RM and others from credit card team before applying card stating that my pre-approved DCP will be unconditional LTF (with official bank email-ids), have replied to the same email with those emails attached as proofs. Lets see what do they respond. I haven't used the card yet though, is there anything else what I can do here? Worst case, should I request for card closure if chargeable? I don't want this card, I only took it as it was mentioned as unconditional LTF due to corporate salary account offer of HDFC and I was planning to downgrade to Millennia.
