Although there are already post regarding this but several of students didn't got these card.
Q: card declined as customer already have low Variant card.
A: you have any sbi card which is 1 year or less old. Just close that card by card closure request. Or you can also wait for 13-14 minimum month age of existing card.
Q: number of card limit.
A: you can hold 3 card at a time for SBI (including add-on, as per agents says)
Q: who in IIT/IIM can get this
A: only current students and faculty members can get it. No non-teaching staff is eligible. However in students category, they have included PhD as well. So eligible students are - b.tech 3rd and 4th year, IDD 3rd, 4th, and 5th year, M.tech and regular PhD student of any year before thesis submitted
(You can try if thesis submitted but have college ID card with valid date)
Q: what documents required.
A: according to sources, this card is given to even very bad cibil scorer. Docs just needed to be Pancard, College ID card, adhar card. That's it.
Q: what if college ID card expired.
A: it happen when students got back log and PhD supervisor didn't allowed students to submit it 5 year (mostly life sciences and chemistry cases). Fill application form in Dean academic with current semester fee receipt and apply fresh id card. You will get ID card for current semester. This id card can be used for availing students discount at airport as well.
Q:What are other premium benefits IIT/IIM are getting?
A: here is few list of offer known to me
1) sbi elite to students.
2) icici sapphiro to alumni.
3) SBI wealth account to students.
4) IDFC first 0-MAB account to graduate and Post-graduate students only.
5) SBI aurum card to IIM A/B/C students only
