I have always heard that Although MasterCard users less than Visa but the in terms of user satisfaction MasterCard comes at top that's why many banks issuing MasterCard at their higher variant cards
ICICI bank wealth select visa is for only wealth select customers, if you are getting this you should definitely get this!!!
Before I could give my choice, the call centre executive already selected the MasterCard World debit card. She had, I can change after 6 months if I don't like the card.
Online when I tried to check benefits, Mastercard world benefits were better than Visa Infinite, and I already have a visa infinite credit card.

Agree! Unless you had a old Master Card issued in your name, bank can't issue Master Card debit card to you.
In Feb, for my ICICI Wealth Debit Card (Master Card) renewal was due and I got a new Master Card -with different card no. (first 8 digits were same).
Surprised I called ICICI CC, asking why new card no. issued and the person had no answer.
Yes... they can upgrade, but can't issue new

I also had a MasterCard variant debit card of my regular savings account with ICICI Bank before the MasterCard ban in India. But in Feb 2022, I re-issued my debit card and got another MasterCard variant debit card. So i guess, previous holders are not affected by the ban at all.
