Closing Axis Atlas Card with Negative Miles Balance

Hi everyone,

I have a negative Miles balance of -15K on my Axis Atlas card due to a planned travel ticket cancellation. My current tier is Platinum. I’m considering closing the card but am unsure if Axis will accept my request given the negative reward points balance.

Has anyone had experience with closing a card under similar circumstances? Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

You don't need to do anything.
Negative balance will remain and when you spend on the card it will reduce and become positive gradually.
They don't charge anything for negative points or miles, they will remain there until you spend

they will charge you 0.2 per each mile I think. And, they should let you close it.
Nope, axis itself has clarified value of 1 E.M = ₹1

Secondly in last devaluation notice, if you have seen carefully, they updated MITC with clause "If the RPs goes in negative balance and user wants to close the card so the equivalent rupees will be debited from card"

Now, there's a record of axes 🪓 not doing anything timely or properly.

So even if you manage to close the card, try to get noc and signed by any nearby axis BM. So that even if they statement Debit from cc or sb, you will have proof 🧾

Yes Axis values 1 point at 20 paisa and one mile at 1 rupee
So only if you close the card, they can charge/debit that amount from your card account and you will have to pay it on closing the card.
SBI also does this.
But If you don't close the card you don't need to pay for the negative points or negative miles

But he will get 10k E.M on paying renewal fees, which will get donated🤡

Call cc and say that you look to close card and ask if any retention offers
Note: dont say that u r on negative miles

I want to close my Atlas card . Even after closure , can Axis put my miles balance in negative ?? I have received refund so around 12k EM and 5k EM for Platinum tier should have been reversed but things are pending from around 3 weeks due to ongoing Citi migration .

I am only closing this card to avoid miles going negative. If they can even debit miles after closure, then I would have no reson to close this card !

Also I have already exhausted 30k Group A Cap so anyhow not interested in burning miles for this calendar year !!
