Hi all, I was using the SmartBuy rewards calculator here: https://offers.reward360.in/v1/savings_calculator

It says total benefit of 8.3% if I book Rs. 3L flights with one time payment:
1724569538346.webp

But, the reward rate goes up to 16.7% if I use 6 months EMI:
1724569579687.webp

Is this a bug or is this how it actually works? Meaning if we take EMI then the 15,000/mo point limit is circumvented? For some reason I remember reading that EMI is excluded from points

It is not a bug....

There is a capping of 15K points max per transaction or per month for Infinia for which max spends required are 1.1L for 5X. Any spend above 1.1L for flight booking will earn 3.3% rate (1x) rate

So for 3L flight, it will work out to be blended rate and less than 9-10%

EMI not counted for points

so the 15k capping for smartbuy resets on billing date or month end?

Not billing cycle, it is calendar month.
You can book few passengers on last day of month and few passengers on next day to max the flight benefits
so means if i do on transaction on 30th nov and max out 15k points and then if i do again transaction on 1st dec and max out 15k points

then on 20th dec my billing cycle day in statement it will have 30k points?

30k + base points about 7500 approximately. 15k is accelerated rewards. So, if you have earned 30k in accelerated rewards on 5x category, you should have 7.5k in base rewards. 37,500 will be least with 5x category.

15k cap is only for accelerated rewards. Base rewards is practically unlimited for middle class people. It is actually 2,00,000. That means 60 lakh expenditure in a statement cycle.

so means if i do on transaction on 30th nov and max out 15k points and then if i do again transaction on 1st dec and max out 15k points

then on 20th dec my billing cycle day in statement it will have 30k points?
