Wallet-based UPI payments: Amex MRCC?

Have you personally done any Marriott redemption at 1MR = 1Rs value till now? Also have you done any airline redemption at 1Rs value per point?
@sourpai yes, and yes. You need to know how to plan and when for. Last minute flights or flights to smaller towns, points will almost always be better value. The same can be said about some international flights, especially eastward ones. Hotels are a little harder, but with Amex you can save up and blow it off in one big trip at some off-the-beaten-track property. A planned trip to Goa will not fetch you 1=1 value. On average I don't think I've ever used points for a worse return than 1 point = 0.85 Rs- Amex or Atlas.

@ARCHISMAN_DAS while I do disagree with the generalisation that redemption rate on points is not real, I do thank you for the alternate suggestion, will definitely have a look!

I really appreciate that ...

The reward ratio are not real for flight or marriot booking and if u want to go for Amazon then u can use hdfc tata neu infinity which will also fetch 1.5% cashback on upi spends...
1.5% cashback on business UPI spends right? The main discussion here with MRCC is because by loading into MK, you can UPI the money to anyone.

As I mentioned previously in my post, it all depends on how one uses the points, how one generally flies, how one generally stays etc.

If one always flies economy, always stays at maximum 4 star hotels, then the value of MR points decreases since one cannot fly business class or stay in five star hotels so as to push up the value of MR points towards ₹1.

Doing like that (flying business or staying in 5* just to extract more value for MR points) is not financially prudent, So for such people using the Gold collection for Amazon Gift Card or similar makes more sense even though the value of MR points come down and the return rate also comes down. Sometimes to as low as 4.86% (3.86% plus 1% on CC bill pay with DC).

Wait, so there's no return on the Neu card for P2P UPI transactions?

Oh absolutely. Stretching your means to maximise the value of any card's points is quite absurd and counter productive; never have, never will. I've just been lucky, or have needed to travel last minute often enough to get a good return till now I guess, I didn't think it was that big a deal. Didn't get the 4.86% point though, could you please elaborate?

I guess you missed my post #31 in this same thread created by you😁
Oh no my bad I did read it I thought you were referring to something else. Nono, definitely not redeeming anything on the 24k gold collection. Travel redemptions FTW.
No. Only P2M transaction give paltry returns of 1.5%. That's where Wallet UPI triumphs. You can send money to anyone on UPI or even do bank transfer.
Then this Mobi + Amex combination sounds like a no brainer! Most of my UPI spends are P2P. Thanks!

Amazon pay wallet can be loaded with CC for 2.36% charges incl. GST. Any reason then why to prefer unreliable and more chargeable mobikwik over it?

Because it does not accept Amex Cards. Very few card on Visa/MC platform give rewards for wallet loads

Amazon doesn't allow AMEX but mobikwik does. For any other card you can use amazon

Mobikwik charges for wallet loading with CC (including Amex) increased to 3.25%. l loaded with 2.95% charges last month
Everyone is interested in giving more to mobikwik than what we get. When we get 5% return on Amex, people were willing to give 2.95% to mobikwik. Especially those with Platinum travel. No wonder the rate has increased
