Maybe I didn't do a good enough job of explaining how the extension works. All data is stored locally. The extension does not ask you to enter any card details, we only ask that you tell us which card you have (Yes or No type of information).
For different card variants, the user can specify while adding the card to help calculate the rewards appropriately.
We detect whether you are on a checkout page locally, and then calculate based rewards based on your cart value, and where you are shopping from. No identifying information leaves the browser.
Re: being fishy, we do not require any login or sharing of any personal information. The extension is approved and published in the Chrome extension store, which involves clearing Google's privacy and safety checks.
Yes, we might be buggy, but fishy is not us. We came here hoping to reach a wider community of users so we can help people manage multiple cards better and yes, also get some feedback and feature requests to improve.
some adjustments, not sure whether you already working on or implemented it..
Ex: IDFC Wealth reward structure
1x - Insurance, Utility
3x - Rent
3x - Spends upto 20k
10x - Spends above 20k
wallet, rent, utility, insurance, govt, educ - no 10x
Now, when I use your extension, my expectation would be
- It should show 1x or 3x (as mentioned by
@Piyush_Jaiswal it needs mcc which if you provide then its a wonderful extension and hot cake in CC community)
- It should also tell 10x once crossed 20k in that month (which needs data storage either locally or somewhere and able to calculate total value)
Similarly, Ex: HDFC Millennia
5% on specific websites
1% on other spends
If I purchase amzn pay voucher in gyftr worth 1000rs, and in checkout page (because ur extension is based on checkout page amount) it would be 1023.6rs.
- If it shows we'll get 1% then its wrong
- If it shows we'll get 5% then its wrong
- If it shows we'll get 1%+5% then also its wrong, it should actually 3.64% based on actual calculation with extra fee.
- If included 1L milestone then it's another +1%.
reward calculation is complicated, not sure how you'll get them accurately. For base rewards, I don't think it serve much.
If its Atlas, then its even more complicated, hopefully you're already working on it.
Anycase, good luck hopefully a better extension awaits us from you.
