Trouble with Standard Chartered credit card

Hey Guys,
I have been using Standard Chartered Landmark Rewards Credit card since 2014.
All went well, but they changed the credit card to basic Platinum card, and again added DigiSmart credit card as companion card.

I moved to Bangalore, and the permanent address on their records was Chennai. For them to update we need to visit nearest branch .

So, after subsequent renewals, somehow I could not get hold of the credit card, as it was always sent to Chennai. It went almost for a year.
On Aug 2023, I requested to send it to Indra Nagar Branch. But it was sent back for some reason.
Last month, I requested again, I got two different CIBIL inquiries. But now they called and informed that my card in inactive/dormant state. As the cards are not sourced anymore, they asking to apply a new card from the website.

Note : I was getting estatements till Sep 2023, and got empty statement generated for last 3 months.

I sent an email stating that, this is my first credit card, and using it since 10 years and would like to continue with it. Send me any credit card, basic or any card, and I can continue to use it. But today I got a call as well, stating the same response.

Is there anyway I can get hold of any one credit card from SCB, without applying via website??

TIA.

This reads like a goldmine of mistakes by the bank.
I personally do not recommend to hold any relation with standard chartered Bank. YMMV.
That being said,
1) did you updated your address(offline or online) in the bank records, to the current address? If yes, when was this done?
2) did the bank refuse to send it to the current address? Was it not serviceable? Or did you missed to collect at your residence or from the branch?
3) why the love for scb card, even if it's the first card. If you have any other credit card, think of it as good riddance.

Thank you for the reply,

1) they mentioned that primary/communication address can be updated only with bank visit. Maybe now they allow online as well.
So, I did not update the address, but always asked to send them to the nearest branch, and thinking we can collect from there. I have done this with ICICI and even SCB said they will do it.
2)They don't send to our current address. I missed to collect once last year, as it was Diwali or New year time. So due to travel missed to collect within a month. Hence got an sms that, the card was sent back.
3) Just to have my oldest credit line in CIBIL report from 2014. I read somewhere, we are not supposed to close the oldest credit card. Else, nothing holding onto SCB.

I am aware I might have missed to collect or follow up in the past... my concern here is why they are not willing to give another product in place of old card. When they stopped LANDMARKS card or rewards card, they sent a new Platinum card or DigiSmart card in the past.

Thank you again.

1) address can be updated online.
If you want to, you can visit the nearest branch and get the local employee number , in case you want to continue any sort of relationship with SCB.
2).. hm
3) How old is the next oldest card?
If the second oldest card is anything above 6 years , I think you don't need to worry. Even if your CIBIL score drops a little, we can recover the score in a few months.
And,
If SCB has already closed the oldest card and asking you to apply a new one, then obviously the oldest account is closed and the new card will have a new account and it will be like a new credit card. In this case the oldest card is closed anyway, and that too about a year ago, nothing can be done.

You were right, when checked the CIBIL report, it looks like the SCB has closed from May 2024. : (
So will just leave it as is : ) Thank you for ur response.
