UPI+Credit Card payment is absolutely useless

Watching YouTube videos, I have taken a PNB Rupay Credit Card & attached with my BHIM account. Finally, I found out UPI+Credit Card payment is not accepted at any regular shops. Where it is accepted (big retailers), they already accept normal Credit Cards with reward-point benefits. It is an absolutely useless thing.

There are some big retailers that don't accept CC or if they do they charge extra for CC payment. Might be useful in these cases.

in my city (tier 3), the local big garment shop owners, mobile shop owners, grocery shops charge a fee if credit cards are used. i think it will be helpful there.

a few questions:
1. is there any way the shopkeeper will know that the upi payment is happening via credit card?
2. is the mdr 0 for upi-cc transactions?

i had read some time back that one can pay using upi-cc only if the merchant has enabled the qr to accept such payments. in absence of 0 mdr, why would any merchant do that?!

I have not found any shop yet, where UPI+Credit Card payment is accepted ...

UPI + CC can only be used where merchants are using current account , for savings account where they are using their own SCAN code , that does'nt works and throws error 'CC payment cannot be done to other savings account' . In my City most merchants are using current accounts hence there is no problem whatsoever in using the same, and I feel its great

What i do is i load money from cc to paytm and phone pe. Now i pay from my wallet only no need to enter pasword again and again its simple one click payment.

@Abhishek012 Have you tried paying via UPI + cc for all transactions or have any ideas about this (quoted message) ?

As, this should be true or else people can simply rotate money by adding 2 accounts in 2 different apps and then sending money to internally via cc.... milestone benefits for all cards.. every month 😀

A simple method to check whether your transaction is allowed or not , will be to check the name after QR scanning, if the name is of a individual then most probably upi+cc won’t be allowed for that transaction, and if it is under a business then transaction will go through easily . Other way simply would be to load your Paytm or PhonePe wallet using upi and pay that through Rupay cc using Bhim , and then simply use wallet balance to pay for QR codes for smaller merchants . In either way it’s a bliss.

That’s not true. I have paid via UPI + CC to account registered with Individual name
Ok in my case I have never been able to pay using cc and upi when user is registered as an individual. I even spoke to customer care agents , they said that upi+cc is not allowed for savings account transfer as per RBI. Though I cannot vouch for the authenticity of this statement

You'll also need to consider MDR costs.
