I am posting this thread to seek some guidance regarding my 10 year old laptop .
I have a dell Inspiron 15 3000 series laptop which is 10 years old .
Intelcore i3 processor , Nvidia graphics card, Windows 10 ( previously 8.1) .
Now laptop was running slow so I updated to windows 10 3 years back , but then also laptop is working slow .

What should I do now to run my laptop smooth .. I just need for multitasking ( no gaming - no editing ) .

SSD would do a lot of diff.. however since now he had already upped it to W10, I think i3 (may be 6 or 7 gen), would it find a lot hard to meet up. So SSD+i5
I think it will be complicated to replace processor in the laptop due to compatibility issues.

I have a Dell latitude i5 from 2013. Came with Win 7. In 2022 I changed to SSD, changed the RAM from 2 GB to 4 GB and installed Win 10. Works fine for all basic needs.

As a first step,
Get SSD in the placec of HDD, if it has HDD now..
It makes a huge difference . I personally experienced with my 13 year old ASUS K55V
