Is Infinia worth it ?

For best returns, you need to buy AGV and book hotels and flights through smartbuy.
If you don't mind , can you explain this a bit more. Have a travel coming up in few days (Approx 1L) , was going to use Infinia and mostly will get 15K points which is cap... do we have a better way to get more mileage out of the card?

I think for hotels and flights you can directly use smartbuy to book. Not sure of other hacks.

The best way is to book at 4-5 days before month end and reach the monthly cap (but you would have to save the monthly cap for it) and then book again at the next month start. That way you get 30k cap. But since your travel is only in few days, I don't think this would work.

Just my opnion that Infinia is kinda overhyped and its not worthy for that much. Reward rate is pretty good but problem comes when in redemption there are too little options for redemption for 1:1 ratio , and also welcome and renewal benefit of 12,500 points after paying the fees is good enough but then, the card holds its value only for those who travel quite a lot. Compare it to Emeradle priv metal and both are kinda the same only but just that icici has a few more irrelevant sites vouchers are available which arent any useful
Depends on your spending.
Like many have explained, it has benefits for travel as reward rates are high. Also unlimited lounge access is a big plus if you travel. The ICICI EPM is very difficult to get and also the yearly fees are higher (Unless your spends are high enough to get a waiver). For me my regular spends for day to day stuff, bills etc easily cover the spend criteria for the fee waiver. So it was a no brainer. I was using a Regalia which was free due to the spend criteria. Infinia will also be free but with some added perks.
Another overlooked factor is the status it comes with. Establishments who know about cards do give a bit better service to clients who use premium cards.
It's actually India's number one card above Magnus Burgundy.
There are so many desperate to get it
Infinia is above the Magnus but below the Magnus Burgundy.

EPM fees are not higher than infinia

Is your travel domestic or international. The reason is for international travel you can also go via forex card route

This is true - I should have booked flights few days back , here the only option is to get max 15K....

Its international but am expecting to book via smart buy so how does forex card route works?
Right now, hdfc is running 5x on loafing money on forex cards and waiving off issuance and loading charges if you put atleast USD 1k (equivalent on it)

That means, maybe you can do whatever cap you have available on your infinia on smartbuy and use forex card for hotel and local expenses / cash withdrawal at your destination

Forex card has its separate cap of 15k this month

Thanks a lot - ordered a forex regalia card and loaded to get 15k points .. now mostly can use flight booking and get 15k for this months .. a bit of planning at my end would have allowed to hit 45k points by doing some in Feb but 30k is not bad enough…

it only holds value if you travel a lot. if travel is not your first priority, might as well settle with SBI Cashback card.

I've 1.5 lakhs Infinia points and don't know what to do with them. Don't have any travel plans anytime soon. Tanishq is another good option but one would loose on ~10% returns if points are redeemed against vouchers. So is the case with apple products and they don't sell pro max models or watch ultra.
Just curious. Why did you get Infinia and spend on it if you were not into travel?

I was living in Bangalore and GF was living in Delhi. I used to travel atleast 2-3 times from BLR to DEL every month.

Now she has moved to Bangalore and I hardly fly to anywhere lol. My parents do take occasional flights to Delhi every now and then, but that's just it.

I plan on redeeming Infinia points for our wedding rings. 🙃

No wonder, I'm unable to find 16 pro max. i thought its out of stock and religiously login daily to check if its back.

So why not take a trip together once in a while?
