Approach the Wealth branch near your IIT/IIM. You just need to fill the Wealth upgrade form to convert your existing regular savings account to Wealth. All that they ask for is your active student ID card. No TRV threshold or anything is there. Its a no-nonsense life time Wealth upgrade.

I've inquired about this offer, is only for some IITs (Bombay, Delhi, Madras, Kanpur and Kharagpur). Not for every IITs.

Not true. Students from other IITs too have upgraded their accounts to Wealth.

I've called multiple wealth offices but got similar responses as I've given above list.
Please tell me which IIT other than this got this facility.
And if possible tag here who got the upgrade.

IIT BHU, @rrsji posted a thread on Wealth upgrade too.

Also, I have seen the email SBI Wealth branches received. At least 10 IITs were in that list for sure.

Kotak is not available for every pincode, which is the main drawback

Change pin code and address as communication address on any servicabel area ,
Then in video kyc told I am stay on the location in college, office etc.
After 6 month change your address in app as your addhar

Not necessary if you block your debit card and if you reinstall the app then you can activate txn permission in Mobile app through the branch.

No it is not discontinued i just opened this account in march 2025 with wealth program

you will get the activation code to your mail which you can use to register in app & netbanking. you don't need physical debit card at all.

I opened the account without selecting the debit card option. Account opened successfully but they didn't send the verification code for me neither in sms nor via email. Now it's asking me physical debit card to enter bob world. Lagta hai kat gaya bada wala.

Did you get welcome mail with attached PDF containing user id? use that to register in netbanking and from there you can register mobile banking and later apply virtual dc. Don't panic, what i told has worked for me without physical debit card, try and let me know.

Just received the welcome letter via email, it doesn't contain any user id. It has only account number and cif number and a beutiful welcome message.

Use Customer ID to set password for netbanking. Try it after few hours, won't work instantly.
