ICICI Bank iShop Accelerated Reward Points Portal Launched - Upto 36% Reward Rate 🔥

As promised by ICICI Bank at the time of launching the Emeralde Private Metal Card and Times Black Card, they have introduced their Accelerated Rewards Portal, iShop by ICICI Bank. Through this portal, ICICI Bank cardholders can earn accelerated rewards when purchasing gift vouchers, booking flights, and reserving hotels.

The portal is similar to HDFC Bank’s SmartBuy for HDFC customers. However, ICICI Bank also offers accelerated rewards to its debit card and net banking customers, even if they don't have an ICICI credit card. The portal appears to be in beta testing, as ICICI Bank has added a "Beta" tag to the iShop logo. So, expect changes in rules and capping.

Let's dive into the details of this portal!

Reward Earning on iShop Portal

Credit Cards & Debit Cards:
  • 6X Reward Points on Flight Bookings & Shopping Vouchers
  • 12X Reward Points on Hotels
  • 4% Cashback for co-branded ICICI cards
Net Banking Customers:
  • 3% iCash on Flight Bookings
  • 6% iCash on Hotels
  • NA% iCash on Shopping Vouchers

Redemption on iShop Portal

You can redeem your credit card reward points on the iShop portal.

The value of credit and debit card reward points depends on the card you hold. For example, with the ICICI Bank Emeralde Private Metal Credit Card, 1 reward point = â‚ą1.

Redemption Options:

  • Flight Booking: You can pay 100% of the order value using reward points.
  • Hotel Booking: You can pay 90% of the order value using reward points, and the remaining 10% must be paid using the same credit card.
  • Shopping Vouchers: You can pay 50% of the order value using reward points, with the rest paid via card.

For Net Banking Customers:

  • Instead of reward points, Net Banking Customers receive iCash from iShop (1 iCash = â‚ą1).
  • For flights, hotels, and gift vouchers, you can use a maximum of 80% iCash, and the remaining 20% must be paid via net banking.

This is an amazing launch from ICICI Bank. ICICI Bank has often been tagged as a low-rewarding credit card issuer, but with this portal launch, customers can now earn significant bonus reward points using their ICICI Bank credit cards. This is a great way to revamp the bank's credit card portfolio.

One key expectation from ICICI Bank is that they should enter the airmiles game as soon as possible. According to some sources, they are already working on it. They are also aiming to launch a hotel co-branded credit card soon.

Has anybody done the flight/hotel booking via the iShop portal? I read somewhere in this portal that iShop cancelled his tickets booked and had various other issues too.
Would not suggest to do flight bookings on iShop until 90 days have passed since Feb (beta launch).

Atleast, unless the effective price after discounts on third party platforms and iShop is something significant for you, avoid booking tickets via iShop as we don't know the exact timeline for the accelerated points to get credited.

Yes, if you redeem on iShop for vouchers it’s the same for EPM
Correct.

Note that points redemption via rewards portal (not iShop) for flights/hotel vouchers (like Yatra, MMT etc.) and some specific brand vouchers like Apple & Tanishq is 1:1 for EPM. You can check the T&C for complete list.

I have stopped purchases on iShop until beta version is upgraded and 90 days window.

People are having many issues like ticket cancellations, reward points credit, txns not capturing.

Don't assume 12% or 18% until everything is settled properly by ICICI.

I had 670 reward points on my ICICI Coral Credit Card. After March transactions, I earned 880 more points. So total should be 1,550, but it's only showing 880.I have not redeemed any reward points. Anyone else faced this issue? is it a display bug?View attachment 89217View attachment 89218View attachment 89219
ICICI IS VERY BAD IN THIS. JUST EMAIL THEM AND THEY SHALL CORRECT IT OR MAYBE THESE ARE CUMULATIVE REWARDS SO YOU NEED TO CHECK HOW MUCH REWARD YOU GOT IN LAST STATEMENT

The experience with iShop is definitely not good.
This is the second debacle by ICICI in the last 4-5 months.
Earlier was launch of TB card.
Total chaos ...

They need to do better planning before coming out in public.

Yes actually some vouchers are available 1:1 for EPM through normal redemption but on ishop same are only get 0.6 for same vouchers.
But replies from ishop customer service are quick.

Looking at the people's reactions towards iShop feeling good now that my EPM didn't get approved 🤣
Some people have received the points. I’d like to give them some time to address the teething issues. What’s important is that the reported issues get addressed in a timely manner, feedback from our complaints get incorporated and stable version of ishop gets launched soon.
Even I haven’t received points but they are staying for now it’s within 90 days. Also, as per them ishop isn’t official so it’s not that they are not doing what they are saying. For me, it’s important that ishop becomes official soon and they start highlighting accelerated rewards as a feature like Infinia on SmartBuy which will make ICICI accountable.

That's what I keep saying. iShop is in beta phase; have patience, things will be sorted out once it is finally released.

When I talked with ICICI customer care and they gave me the iShop portal number to connect. They said, they are also from ICICI, just a different team.
Yes, iShop portal customer care no. is there on the portal itself with elaborate FAQs and it’s a different dedicated team. IShop is available to public, just that it’s in Beta. They are collecting a lot of real data from real customers like us and basis the analytics, spending patterns, cost benefit analysis stabilising the portal that may also result into restrictions, devaluations by launch, I feel.

I'm not sure if it would be fair to call certain restrictions a devaluation considering the portal isn't live yet. The data they're collecting is not for us customers anyway, it is for the bank to find that sweet spot where they not only attract new customers into their premium segment but also make good profits out of it.

But unless ICICI wants to shoot itself in the foot, they should target keeping EPM above Infinia (which appears to be what they're trying to do). I hope things turn out well in a month or two, but won't be surprised if ICICI backtracks. They have already done it once when they launched EPM, 1:1 points redemption against outstanding card amount got devalued in a month or two.

Today, while purchasing a voucher from iShop, I noticed something new. My Times Black Credit Card had around 1,700 reward points, but when I tried to redeem them for a â‚ą10,000 voucher, I only got â‚ą1,000 off in total.

Earlier, 1 point used to equal ₹1, so with 1,700 points, I should have gotten ₹1,700 off. But now, I’m getting only ₹1,000 off for the same number of points.

Has anyone else noticed this change? Has anyone recently redeemed their points for a voucher and seen the same thing?
this has been the case from start voucher value is not 1

Seems like a regular feature of products that ICICI launches.
Corrections/devaluations within a month or two.
They did this to TB also. Gave private banking and withdrew it in a month.

They never mentioned they would give Private Banking to TB, but that might be bait used by ICICI. Many customers on boarded assuming ICICI gave that Private Banking status for TB card with annual fees of 23600 and unlimited voucher purchase (This was due to Beta version).
