All banks downgrade eventually. Some after 6 months some after a year. Also if any bank doesn't downgrade. That account is useless. You may think of ut as a zero balance account with free debit card.

Ask about charges. What charges for refund?? Otherwise they'll charge you MDR ,Refund charges and other misc charges. Better to surrender their machine and regund via chargeback. Or negotiate to refund without charges.

Can only complain if everything is geniune and legit. Swiping own card at own pos machine can lead to heavy penalty along with merchant deactivation
