They used to give 1% reward points, 1rp =0.25 rs
But now for virtual card they are give 2 rp,so effectively 0.5 cashback
You can redeem in Amazon pay voucher, Flipkart vouchers,book my show etc
Also you can use the points for bill payments

Yeah no point in keeping sbi physical card better take the virtual card and go for physical card of hdfc or indusind

I don't have physical debit card for sbi. Last one expired then didn't take one.
HDFC platinum 750 cb already done for the month... This will help.
Earlier there were no points for paying via virtual card, when has this changed?

This whole thread is not accurate.
-First thing first, official website states "you will not get points when you make transaction using virtual card".
(But, we do get on some websites, Unipay doesn't work as far as I remember)

- Second, the points which you were getting were part of a promotional offer by SBI called 'Rakshabandhan ka atoot rishta'
Which says, you will get 2x accelerated points where x = regular points up to 1000 points (including birthday bonus) can be awarded to the customer and this is how you accumulated your points. However, this offer is no longer available as it got expired on August 19th.
Note: Virtual debit card was working in this offer
