(When 1 RP = 0.25p)
Online Spends

= 54000 RP + 40000 RP (if joining fee paid) + 20000 RP (if renewal fee paid) = 114000 RP
= 114000 RP * 0.25 = 28,500
= 28,500 - 11,800 (JF paid) -5,900 (RF paid) = 10,800

Net return = 3.6%

All Category Spends

= 54000 RP + (JF waived) + (RF waived) = 54000 RP
= 54000 RP * 0.25 = 13,500
= 13,500 - 4,130 (sub. fee) = 9,370

Net return = 3.12%
On Offline Travel, Dining, Apparel, and Health Care Spends

= 90000 RP + (JF waived) + (RF waived) = 90000 RP
= 90000 RP * 0.25 = 22,500
= 22,500 - 5,900 (sub. fee) = 16,600

Net return = 5.53%

Drsel's advice
1. Ideally Yes Marquee should be used only for online spends and the points earned should be redeemed for flights or hotels or any voucher that available at 0.25p.

2. Ideally Yes Reserve 3x should be used only for online spends and the points earned should be redeemed for flights or hotels.

3. Yes Reserve 5x has the highest return of all Yes Bank cards, provided you have a lot of expenses in hospital bills, doctors fees, diagnostic tests (blood test, x-ray, CT scan, MRI etc.), medicines, travel (including online travel agents), luxury fashion brands.

Ideally Yes Reserve 5x should be used only for online spends in all the above categories, and the points earned should be redeemed for flights/hotels.

4. For all spends, if possible, ask the merchant to send a payment link by SMS, email or WhatsApp, so that you can pay online instead of offline to get the extra 2.25% (Marquee) or extra 1.5%.(Reserv 3x and 5x)

They introduced the convenience fee (in other words 'reward redemption fee') where its useful most. Thankfully, excluded EGV otherwise 0.10p will become even less.
First they'll give some super premium card with good benefits then they'll restrict users from using it by implementing these rewards points redemption charges and removing some redemption options.. although it's not dead completely but need to accumulate good amount of points whereas GV is a convenience can be redeemed and used as per requirement.. let's see hope no further devaluation for sometime now.

They just rephrased it and removed concept of 12 bonus and 12 normal points.

They just rephrased it and removed concept of 12 bonus and 12 normal points.

If thats the case no issues, my worry is that they want to reduce its benefits so that Marquee will be comparably higher reward than Reserv. Hopefully, they still followed that 12+12 format. If not, then online will be reduced by 12 points.

Yes Reserv 3 x online is reduced to 2x instead of 3x
Yes Reserv 5x online is reduced to 3x instead of 5x
What is the return calculation now for all options of Yes Reserve 3x and Yes Reserve 5x?

based on @Harry1 analysis (which I agree also),

Earlier Terminology:

  • 12 Regular Rewards (Offline)
  • 12 Regular + 12 Bonus Rewards (Online)
  • 6 Reward Points for Special Categories

New Terminology:

  • 24 Rewards (Online) – 2x = 48
  • 12 Rewards (Offline) – 3x = 36
  • 6 Rewards (Special Categories) – 3x = 18

In essence, there are no major changes at this point, but this is current assumption. More clarity will be available in coming months.

Now super market, groceries and cabs are added to select category. They are slowly devaluing by moving categories to lower tier. Is this legal to move without sending proper notice to all cardholders?
