Drsel's advice
1. Ideally Yes Marquee should be used only for online spends and the points earned should be redeemed for flights or hotels or any voucher that available at 0.25p.

2. Ideally Yes Reserve 3x should be used only for online spends and the points earned should be redeemed for flights or hotels.

3. Yes Reserve 5x has the highest return of all Yes Bank cards, provided you have a lot of expenses in hospital bills, doctors fees, diagnostic tests (blood test, x-ray, CT scan, MRI etc.), medicines, travel (including online travel agents), luxury fashion brands.

Ideally Yes Reserve 5x should be used only for online spends in all the above categories, and the points earned should be redeemed for flights/hotels.

4. For all spends, if possible, ask the merchant to send a payment link by SMS, email or WhatsApp, so that you can pay online instead of offline to get the extra 2.25% (Marquee) or extra 1.5%.(Reserv 3x and 5x)

How can we get online reward points for buying amazon gift cards using YES Reserv? Do we need to buy through GFYTR for YES bank or even buying in amazon will also help?

They increased the lounge spends to 1L now, including Marquee 😡

Marquee need 1L but Elite+ need 50K only. Fair 🤔.

I know lounge count different but thats not fair, IMO.

Reward redemption is 70% like HDFC for flights and hotels.

They are still changing every month, when it will settle?

@Harry1 , its time to unload points.

Seems like going forward 10k card also need spends to access lounge.

Yeah, already redeemed most of mine last month, just when they announced 118 convinience fee. Still have some points for 1-2 tickets, will try to redeem it before 1st December deadline.

I don't care about lounge, as I still have few cards with unlimited lounge access. But redemption restrictions hit me the most. I was already struggling with hdfc 70% rule, but they at least give 5x on remaining 30% to keep point value intact and also have miles transfer option (with occasional bonus offers) for 100% usage.

Same here, I preferred Reserv over dcb since I was able to book full flight tickets using RPs.. hope we still get 3x with reserve on the remaining 30% of the invoice now... This 70%-30% rule is crazy..

Disclaimer:
The following example explores the full utilization of reward points under specific redemption limits. This level of detail is primarily for learning purposes and may not be necessary for everyday use.

^ Spend required to Earn 15,000 Points for YES Reserv 3x:

- you need to spend ₹62,600 initially on online spends to earn 15,024 points.

^ Redemption Process for Flight Redemption (70% Limit):

- Since you can redeem only 70% of your points at a time, you'll use 70% of your points and need to pay the remaining 30% in cash, on which you’ll earn additional reward points at the online rate (48 points per ₹200, currently assuming).

^ Effective Reward Percentage:

Total Spend
= ₹64,222 (62,600 + 1,622)
Total Value of Points Redeemed: ₹3,793
Additional Points Left in Bank After Redemption: 133 points (worth ₹33 if redeemed for flights/hotels later)

Effective Reward Percentage = 5.9% (this only possible if we exactly match our spends based on available points).

TransactionPoints RedeemedValue Redeemed (₹)Cash Spend (₹)Points Earned on Cash SpendRemaining Points
1105162,6291,1262404748

310312571100442
430977330133
Total151793,7931,622-133

General scenario: Flight ticket may cost 4k and that requires 16K points but they allow only 11,200 points, remaining as cash have to be paid.

After six memorable years with this card—known for its lowest credit limit and never a limit increase offer in sight—it’s time to bid farewell! With recent changes not quite fitting my needs, I opted for a closure, which got honored without any retention call or nothing :man-shrugging: . I’ll miss the 25% off on single ticket bookings, which made it the MVP for those odd-numbered ticket buys (until Zenith launch and then after its devaluation).

While I won’t be hearing from this bank anymore directly in my inbox, I’ll keep this thread alive with updates if any surprising twists pop up!

Didn't had any points remaining? Or subscription plan? Was it chargeable card?

Points redeemed, had 12k but no plans as of currently. Tried to redeem for vouchers but its got too much complicated with 50% redemption and have to spend more even after lowest redemption of 0.10p. Tried catelogue but it came reward value to 0.13p at max + have to pay more. So, finally utilized for utilities with convenience fee.

Its LTF since beginning and my subscription didn't renewed after they increased the fees to 4k (previous subscription 1k expired).

Could have kept as it is LTF and redeemed later with 70-30 at 25 Paisa. No harm in keeping LTF card.

If things are modified by next quarter, will apply Marquee which I believe has reasonable limits by then. Even if I apply through current CIBIL online process then my credit limit also will improve, its just 1.2L currently and no increment till now even after consistent usage for multiple years and stopped for some years and usage again last year.

I redeemed at .18p, cumulatively for now for these 12k points, have to see the future.

I usually do not include private cards because those are for specific and limited users and I believe most of them either do not qualify or get much benefits w.r.t fee or nrv.

Maybe we can plan to include some of those private cards separately like IDFC vs YES vs ICICI (for now) vs KOTAK vs AXIS One..

Since no subscription, it can be straightforward to do calculation with like nrv cards.

Sure please compare Yes Private with Burgundy Private, Axis Reserve, Magnus burgundy, Infinia, IDFC private, etc

Since the best use of Yes points (25p) is to book flights, are the flight prices the same as Skyscanner or Kayak?
