Can I apply for my 1st HDFC debit card online?

Hi everyone, I have an HDFC Savings Account but haven't been able to get a debit card yet. I'm trying to register for netbanking but it seems I need a debit card linked to my account to proceed.

Has anyone faced a similar situation? Is there a way to apply for the debit card online or do I have to visit a branch? Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

my dad had a minor account on my name, and few days ago he converted it to a major account. but when i tried to log into netbanking i got an error saying that i cannot log into netbanking since i don't have a debit card

Contact CC, if they can apply on phone otherwise goto branch.

For first time debit card particularly for second holder you have to visit branch to apply. Primary account holder may also be required to sign the form. This is what I learnt in last few days through personal experience, branch staff, and customer care executives.

But, for net banking or mobile banking for the first time debit card not compulsory. Provided they send you net banking pin at your address.

Even if u able to login you won't able to apply debit card through any of the online channels. Customer care also can't.

Go to branch with the primary account holder and apply for debit card and activate net banking. Ask them to deliver you net banking kit and cheque book (if required).

If you account is still minor , it has to be process through primary holder(guardian). How come you don't have dc. Even minors can have debit card in hdfc (though daily limit is 2.5k/5k. I don't remember exactly).

You can also request welcome kit through registered mail but you should mention you cust id as well. Else they might send primary holders kit.

Also you can also get insta kit through branch. Many bm don't know this. But this is also possible. Just your account has to be active. You can later ask for replacement card with your name engraved.
