Which network for SBI cashback? Visa or mastarcard?

Guys,

Which network did you select for sbi cashback card? Does it really matter? Can anyone please let me know if there are any differences between the two networks that I should know( visa and mastercard)?

I have visa.

The mapping of mcc may be different in some cases if u consider mastercard.

So better go with visa as majority holds the same here ig.

True. I have HSBC Live + with visa and Swiggy with mastercard network. I bought amazon gift voucher from amazon it itself with both the cards, but the customer care informed me different MCCs for the same. Swiggy with mastercard got 5947 MCC which is gift card MCC and doesnt give any cashback with SBI CB card. But HSBC Live+ got the MCC as 5699 which is apparel MCC. Strangely with AU LIT card, they mentioned it as 5399 MCC. This MCC game is really tough to understand.

When did you last try and confirm? Maybe millennia gives cb with 5947 mcc as well i think compared to swiggy which is very strict with mcc mapping

I got virtual card last month around 20march. yet to receive physical card.

So, I tried to add in google pay but it says only visa card is allowed which means mine is mastercard. How to request for visa card instead?
I tried to call customer care but couldn't find any option to speak to their representative.

Any help is appreciated.

they generally gives us the option to select which variant we want during the application process itself. I have selected VISA as their MCCs are much better compared to Mastercard. My swiggy card has Mastercard and it gives MCC5947 with amazon gift cards.

how would i update now. i could not reach customer care. ivr option are not direct. dummy know what to choose to steal to representative regarding this

just drop them an email asking them to convert your card to VISA network
