Bahar foreign reservation toh nahi hai on papers but reality waha bhi kuch log hi sabko pel rahe hai. Equlity is a myth around the world. People use connections to be where they are today and not because of their talent or hard work. Only few are reaching spots with their hard work and talent but they also face wrath of people who only like their owns genes to be at top by hook or crook.

What if you have been in the privileged (discounted) categories here. Would you loved it or hated it? Would you have asked the same question here?

Not asking you in particular, but actually the solution is lying there only.

As, said many times, people loves to be part of every beneficial group, but hate being on the remaining sacrificing groups.

That was exactly my frustration when I was filling my engineering applications a decade ago. Whats even more frustrating is, there is reimbursement of travel fare for attending interviews for those.

In society, kuch cheeze same nehi ho sakte. Like, Gender, Race-Ethnicity, Skin colour etc.
So discrimination in the name of upliftment is going to stay longer.

Some other set of discrimination are doable to wipe out, like religion, caste, status, wealth, etc. But I do not have the power to do that. Otherwise, I would have done it before.

If I ever meet the Chief God, I will ask him/her/! to look into the possibilities.

Sometimes, I wonder:
-What are the different sets of God doing in different regions/ places?
-When a person realises that there is no god or at least they won't rescue them, then why do they still practice the same religion and pray again?
-Why doesn't God come and help an ant or a mosquito when we are killing them even before they bite us? Don't they have a God too? Is their God inferior to ours?

@kuchbhi and others, Do you believe a family coming from general category and a family coming from sc/st category have same privileges ?
If so then why do you think that more general category people have better life even if they are getting "less privileges"
Even after reducing the fees of sc/st people you will see that still more general people will sit for exam, this initiative is to merely help underprivileged people and underprivileged people mostly belong to sc/st caste !
I know that system is not perfect, and some are exploiting it, but it's better than nothing !
I believe in Equality of Equals and the bitter truth is general category and sc/st category are not equal they are underprivileged and we all know why....
You may correct me if I am wrong!

Then proof should be taken on the basis of family income and the amount should be reimbursed/discounted Or whatever is possible but no, several of them might even be on high posts then why extra benefit to them.

@kuchbhi we do not have enough resources for doing so, we have a whoping population of 140 crore don't forget that, you know what we had, we had census every 10 years which used to give an overview, but BJP is delaying census from 4 years now, I am sure they have some wishful thinking behind it🙃

@Zidan SC is not under privileged, due to politics even non eligible casts are there in sc list.
While ST is different matter altogether, they are the most backward and truly underprivileged members of our society.

I truly believe that apart from ST reservation should be removed except reservation on basis of economical condition.
Also reservation should be 1 time affair, eg if your grandfather took it, then oops no reservation for you 🙂

@Beyond don't know much about that but still sc caste are less privileged than general caste !
And if non eligible people are registering themselves in sc, doesn't mean we should end reservation for other sc people also, rather we should investigate and punish people who are doing so !
Yeah I do agree with you that reservation should be on the basis of economical condition but for that we would need resources and data ! (Reservation on the basis of economic situation, isn't that part of communism ideology😂)
But there are other factors as well for this kind of reservation in India, Major one is Caste system for example in my village some upper caste could not swallow seeing a lower caste(dalits, chamaar) get above them, what do you think will happen when such(upper caste) people become boss, would they hire lower caste people? , Absolutely not, hence reservation that there should be 10 sc/st people out of 100 even if they score low because it will encourage other people of his caste to study !

And about Reservation being a 1 time thing, so if my grandfather takes reservation and wastes it, and their economic situation is still poor why should his coming generation suffer?

Those who choose to remain underprivileged always do. Their share of benefits is taken by someone richer and non-deserving, simply because they were born with a certain title.

Reservation should be only on basis of economic condition, and nothing else.

Do you even know how easy it is? Have u ever met any guy who came for survey last time? Do you remember what questions did he asked last time. When govt can do caste census, land survey, then why not economic survey.

In today's time, almost everything is linked with aadhar+PAN. Just like the revenue officers who issue RTPS certificates, can do verification of any family background in hrs.

Govt just should quash all caste certificates and bring a unified single certificate containing all info of their family. It should be valid for next 2-3 yrs. Post that renew same.

Tribal reservation is not a new thing, Countries like USA has vast national parks, where residents(tribals) are living in Nature.
Obvoiusly, a tribal kid with no proper exposure, infrastructure and even the electricity, will have hard time to compete with a kid from townships.
The problem is - in India tribals are identified by their caste instead of location and background.

About economic reservation and communism: check Harvard / MIT, even they offer scholerships to economically backward students. In real world, no country is truely capitalist or communist. Even contries which calls themselves communist are capitalist eg - China.

Also perpatual reservation will keep SC an SC forever, so it should go! sooner the better! Reservation has contibuted in solidifying the caste identity. If reservation would not have been there; some caste might have intermingled with each other, but reservation is the wall which wont let it happen.

Reservation related threads never disappoint on any platform. They explode like anything.

1. Privileged or under privileged, all in perception. How we (society) look at it. They are not real.

2. There is no superiority or inferiority; again, it's a perception.

3. If someone was depressed long back, by someone else. Then, they both were responsible for that situation. Not me, you, or the current generation.

4. If someone was looted at some point of time, how is it fair to ask a third person who was not even alive during the loot to pay the price.

5. I practically follow what I speak. Otherwise my family wouldn't have different caste (surname) of extreme (perceived) social standing.

6. Yes, you heard it right, in the era of migration, caste is nothing but classified surnames that people want to preserve in museums or bio-reserve areas citing that they are endengered species.
