Do Amex ask for salary slip while applying for the card? The reason I am asking is I have couple of big purchases this month, which will hit the 4 lakh milestone of platinum travel and all the other cards I have are of cashback types which are useless in this case from rewards point of view...

I applied for the Amex SmartEarn on Monday and got approval today. They said the card will be delivered within 7 days. However I will be away from home for 2 weeks starting tomorrow. Is there any way to find the limit approved? They didn't show me a preapproved limit during application.
