₹1 Lakh Utility Spend: SBI Cashback or PhonePe Card?

Ekavya

TF Ace
I currently hold the SBI Cashback Credit Card with a ₹90,000 limit, which I primarily use for electricity bills (around ₹1 lakh annually) and online shopping. I’ve completed my first year, met the spending requirement, and successfully got the annual fee reversed.

In the second year (valid till 26th September), I’ve already completed about 50% of the required spend, so I’m confident the annual fee will be waived again.

I’m now considering reapplying for the SBI PhonePe Credit Card, which was earlier rejected. The main reason is the 10% cashback on electricity and utility bills, where my annual spend easily crosses ₹1 lakh.

The ideal scenario for me would be to:

Get the SBI Cashback Card’s annual fee waived for two consecutive years

Then request SBI to convert it to Lifetime Free (LTF)

And also obtain the paid SBI PhonePe Credit Card for utility payments

What do you think about this approach?

Approach is good but ltf isn't they are doing now, currently tried 3 times after my 3rd year annual fee waiver.

Getting phonepe is a good idea

To request for LTF conversion, whom should we approach? Can we write directly to the customer service email instead of closure request😕.

Guys I applied for PhonePe Card and now it's in in person verification. But then I saw that it's in Visa network. I don't know how I missed the rupay network. Can I change the Network if I get it approved?
