2000 rupees compensation recieved from Federal Bank for not sharing scapia card rejection reason.
On 3rd March i recieved an email, which was an invitation to apply for the scapia credit card. but when i tried to apply for the card, app told me that existing federal bank credit card holders are not eligible. Then next day i received a notification from the app, as per the notification existing federal bank card holders can apply for the card once they updated the app. I updated the app and applied for the card, but they instantly rejected it without mentioning any specific reason.
Then i contacted all three levels of their grievance officers to know the exact reason for rejection, but none of them are ready to share the exact reason. And one of them even told me that they are issuing cards on a limited basis as part of a phased rollout, then why they invited me in the first place.
On 15th March i filed complaint on RBI ombudsman portal, after that bank informed me that excessive number of credit enquiries in my credit report was the main reason for rejection. Then why they are not ready to share this reason earlier. Anyhow RBI closed my complaint on 28th March by giving 2000 rupees compensation.
Banks should be more transparent about card eligibility and rejection. Everyone should try to enquire the reason behind every rejection.
