I have received the 3x Magnus Points for Magnus (received the bonus for rental transaction as well). Accurately matched my excel sheet

Till then I am just moving my ER to Kris Flyer Miles at every 30K per month
Why Krisflyer? I saw their redemption is not the cheapest. I think United is better compared to Kris. I checked for Bom-Sin leg. SQ is far costlier than United. Similarly for Europe, United is a bit better than most like BA or Qatar plus the ease and availability of United seems better.

Also in most cases the value of ER comes to around 50p. Even for Marriot or IHG the value come to around 50p. You get close to 100p only if u are travelling in Biz which is very difficult to get specially if you are travelling with family.

Sq has services from Kolkata , I think United does not have services there. Plus overall I find SQ quite good even in economy.

In some legs, redemption is cheaper in Krisflyer. Ex: A ticket to Paris was costing 33.5k points in United where it was only 30.5k points in Krisflyer. Both had same tax amount.

Via United you can book Air India, Vistara, Thai Airways and Singapore Airlines from CCU.

Via Singapore Airlines should be the same, same Alliance.
However required points will be different sometimes better in SQ but taxes and fees tend to be on the very high side. Also it might not be easy to book, you might have to call SQ for booking awards.

One thing I have observed not all flights are present in United and Singapore. SOme are avilable in United and some are available in United. United has far more flights.

It doesn't. That's what I told. If some people keep reserve and pay 50k fee without any milestone, there will be some people willing to keep magnus as well without any milestone.
Yeah , sorry I misread that . But I think reserve is still worth without the milestone , as it provides other benefits which are not there in Magnus. Magnus just provides unlimited domestic and international lounge access and 8 meet & greet services

Eazydiner 40/50% and BMS BOGO are also there. And for 10k fee, u get 10k tata cliq voucher. So, there will still be some takers.

Bom-sin is 20k in krisflyer and 27.5k in United. Where do you see United as cheaper?

Availability will always vary. That's a fact, even ongoing promotions in airlines can screw the availability of awards seats in specific routes or in general. Also the flight frequency affects this and usually airlines have more award availability for their own members and more limited for partner airlines.

Funny thing I looked at DEL-SIN on all three airlines from late Jan to mid Feb:

SQ 37k + INR1300 Daily and consistent
UA 27.5K + USD17 Daily and consistent
UK 21k and INR1500. All over the place with pretty bad availability and pricing, one day at 21k, then no availability, then 70k, then again nothing, then 37k, then 21k and so on. It's like playing roulette.

But again it will vary from city to city, the best deal would be Vistara 16500 points from Pune but they don't have daily flights. Also United could be a better option unless Singapore Airlines allows connecting flights at no extra cost. Again highly dependent on the city you're flying from.

So you can't say X is better than Y, it quite often varies unless you always take a best case scenario and you are flexible enough to get it. If you need to have more flexibility United usually fares better.

United is definetly not cheaper. But it has more options and you can book more award seats as well.
Can you suggest cheapest hotel options for Singapore?

I see ITC is not available. And Marriott is too costly.

In IHG, I see 2 options with around 10k points per night. It says price inclusive of taxes and shows 10k or 5k + 41SGD. I am thinking to go with 10K points option, as points are anyway giving 0.5rs at most places.

Will I have to pay anything extra with 10K points option? I don't have points in account, so not able to move further.

Also, it shows 3 different rooms with same price. Why is that? Isn't it better to choose 1 Queen Bed 1 Bedroom Suite Nonsmoking option, as it is biggest?

Edit: Seems like this hotel is not even in Singapore 😅.

Full points means nothing else extra .. all inclusive.. As I have mentioned before, most cases the value of points are 0.5 … except high end hotel rooms or biz class tickets.. both are hardly available..

Village Hotel bugis would be a good option it’s located centrally
You can get good deals in MMT

Hmm, i found one venue hotel good for its price. Cleartrip offering 35% discount too. So 4 night is like 20K.

But i was looking to book via points. Seems cheapest option is 25K per night😅.
