Aadhaar UPI for PNB

For UPI to work, all you need is a App which has UPI like BHIM (Owned by NPCI and backed by Govt), Google Pay or your own bank's app.

1. First you need to register using the same mobile number which you have in bank account. After that you need to link bank account which you can do easily by selecting your bank from list. It will auto-fetch the account number using your mobile number in particular bank.

2. Next thing is setting UPI PIN. It can be set by two methods. a) Using your debit card details. b). Using Aadhaar (only if linked with bank account).

If you can share for what bank your are looking for UPI services I will help you with a better approach.
Pnb is not allowing me to set upi pin via aadhar. Linking issue I guess. Never faced this issue with other banks. How were you able to solve this issue ?

Go to https://www.npci.org.in/ --> Consumer --> Bharat Aadhaar Seeding Enabler (BASE)

Seed your PNB account and it is done in 2 mins. Aadhaar UPI starts working right after seeding.

Note: Right now, NPCI Seeding doesn't allow an option to deselect DBT, so your account will be registered for DBT, too. If you have no issue with that then that's fine or else you can re-seed your older account after a few days.

How to check which all bank accounts have Aadhar linked to it

As per NPCI there are two types of Aadhar linking

1. Aadhaar Linking at the Bank's CRM/CBS (Central Banking System/Software). This is done at bank level and mostly all accounts have Aadhaar todat.

2. Aadhaar Seeding: This is Linking A/C with Aadhaar at NPCI layer. For this to work, Aadhaar should already be linked at Bank's CBS.

Now 1 is done when you open an account and while opening there is checkbox for Aadhaar seeding too and branch people usually check it even if you somehow miss it. So for almost all banks Aadhaar Linking and Seeding is done as long as you haven't explicitly asked them not to

If you or branch people missed 2 (seeding) somehow (Like I did for PNB) NPCI has provided a portal to seed account without visiting the branch. As mentioned in orevious comment right now there is no option to uncheck DBT but you can always seed your older account (after a few days) for DBT without any issues so it doesn't matter.

Aadhaar UPI only works if Aadhaar Seeding is done. Other services that can be availed after seeding DBT (this is usually done by default when seeding but you can opt out), AePS (sometime back this was opt out but now it's disabled by default)

My aadhar upi works without any type of seeding in my bob bank account. Even my bob app shows aadhar number as N/A. and good thing is bob provides an option to seed aadhar in its app.

Yeah mostly all banks seed the A/C. I may have missed the check mark in form and branch guy wouldn't have bothered.

For all my accounts Aadhaar UPI worked by default that's why I was confused on why seeding is required but then I got to know the whole process( c. @desiviru) via NPCI.

So BoB seeded your accout while opening and you are good.

How to enable transaction facility in pnb mobile banking without debit card ?
Man earlier (like in early 2024) PNB Mobile and netbanking used to work just with aadhaar without a Debit Card. But they have paused/discontinued Aadhaar enabled Mobile/Net Banking for now. If you have netbanking try generating a virtual debit card and use the details to get full access on mobile banking

How to enable transaction facility in pnb mobile banking without debit card ?
If you have PNB One active then generate Virtual debit card. Once you have it you can enable txn facility using it. But even virtual card needs TPIN to generate. Try it if you can.

With PNB you can set DC PIN for virtual card also. In most of my family account I have closed DC except some and using Virtual card for any forogt password or registrations.
