Hi,

Those with a tax liability may pay income tax on or before June 15 using their credit card by paying a nominal PG fee of 0.47%.

The tax payment link can be found here https://eportal.incometax.gov.in/iec/foservices/#/e-pay-tax-prelogin/user-details

Select Canara Bank PG

Please note

1. Magnus users can rejoice as one would get regular and milestone reward points on income tax payments.
2. DCB/Infinia users may avoid this as they won't get any reward points. However, the spends will be counted for milestone spends for fee reversal.
3. SCB ultimate users will get reward points.
4. Amex cards can't be used.

Salaried persons are not supposed to have income from other sources?!
And your finance team can deduct that from your salary if you declare it.

I guess you can pay yourself if you get some benefit/rewards paying through your CCs. Or just declare it and your employer should take care of paying taxes on your behalf...

Any idea if making advance payments using credit card will be considered as spend for HDFC cc upgrades?

It makes sense because if having platinum debit card, 1% cashback is received on making card due pyaments so offsets the tax payments very well.

Not sure if the spends would be considered for upgrade, but you cannot pay HDFC credit card bill using hdfc platinum dc for the 1% cb. You can however pay another credit card bill using hdfc plat DC for 1% upto 750/- per month.

Income from other source can be Interest of FD, Rental Income, Income from Share market trading, Dividend income, Mutual Fund sale ( tax implication of the same) , Tax on any land / house sale transaction etc. etc.
It is not only the "work" you are doing with any other company.

All these may not be part of TDS that Employer doesn't deduct for you. If you dont pay advance tax, then at the end of the year you will have to pay tax with penalty.

The AIS form these days has a lot ( if not all) information on this.
