Air India miles usage

My Air India FR account is only 3 days old, but I got enough miles.
Right now I cannot book an award seat using miles for my spouse, I get an error and a refund of the taxes paid.

AI customer care said that I have to wait 15 days and that I also need to book two revenue tickets on my name first. (which will earn some miles)
1) Do I need to book two tickets in my name first?
2) with miles or with cash?
3) If I book 2 revenue tickets with cash, then when will the miles get credited to my FR account?

Where did you get "enough miles" without booking even one flight? Tranfered from Credit Card points?

If yes, then this rule seems stupid because AI while negotiatign terms with Credit Card companies might already know that people without any flying history will book ticket using redeemed points.

I have flown Mumbai to Sharjah return on Air India express in 2016.
But I don't think I can claim any miles for that now.
Another Mumbai to Goa flight was booked on Air India many years ago

@drsel By any chance you saw how many rewards seats were available when booking through reward points? Just want to know reward seat quota for Air India PS: Vistara had 4 & it used to show how may out of 4 are still available.

If you got these miles using Air India Signature card then below the T&C

1. Welcome gift of 20,000 Reward Points will be credited in 15 days from date of annual fee payment posting.
2. Get your existing flying returns loyalty number linked to your card
3. In order to redeem miles for self, member is required to have at least one flight accrual activity registered from the date of enrollment as a Flying Returns member. Member needs to have at least five flight accrual activities registered from the date of enrollment in order to redeem miles for family and friends.

I think there are only 2 economy award seats per flight.

That's a serious devaluation for voucher! When randomly checked booking through points only 2 seats shown.

This redemption condition is applicable for the entire frequent flyer program not just the SBI card.

The above is applicable for the SBI Air India card, but for the mileage program--
You can book an award seat for yourself immediately and for your spouse and family members after 15 days

Air India flying return points can be used to book reward seats for family and friends after you have flown 2 flights yourself on Air India (not Air India express) booked on Air India app or website (not OTA). See the image attached

Can I book these 2 qualifying flights using only points and the small tax component in cash?

I have to activate my frequent player points to book reward seats for my family, by booking 2 flights for myself

Can I book these 2 qualifying flights by paying --
1) Only points
2) Cash + points
3) Full cash payment?

Two full cash flights completion to book for friends and family using points.

After completion of 1 or 2 flights the earned points will reflect in your account within 7 days. then automatically your points will be activated for use, for yourself after one flight completion and for family after 2 flights competition

Nice to know this clarification, asy club vistara points are now going to be transferred to flying return and eventually to Maharaja Club

Maharaja club update: we can use CV / vouchers for family, if family is traveling along with voucher owner.
