I asked BM over WhatsApp, he asked me to visit branch with docs. Went to branch and filled application form on 01-Feb. I do have a SB Ac in a different branch. BM took printout of the form in front of me after entering by SB Ac No and the form had all my details pre-filled. I just had to tick the variant (Mastercard World) and sign after verifying the details. Documents submitted - PAN, Aadhaar, Latest ITR, 1 passport size photo.
Followed up on 15-Feb, was told some issues with system. WhatsApp'd BM today morning (20/02) saying 20 days no update, very disappointing service. Received call from branch post that and card was applied in their system. I had to give consent through OTP verification then another code came which I had to give to branch person over the phone. Received card approved SMS within 30 minutes.
P.S.: Branch person who called me today said there was a system upgrade due to which they were not able to submit application in their system. According to him, it did not have the consent option earlier which has now been added. After receiving approved SMS I called him back and asked whether approval is done from branch only? He confirmed that since my CIBIL is excellent (809) it was approved from the branch itself.
Card (Mastercard World) received through speed post on 24-Feb.
Issues faced:
- They truncated my name on the card as it exceeds 19 characters. They didn't bother to look at what I filled in the application form as name to be embossed on card.
- CIBIL enquiry done for Consumer Loan instead of credit card.
- Needed 2 follow-ups with BM to make them apply in system.
