Airtel payments bank freezed my account suddenly, it's not even a month since I opened it. When I reached out to grievence team, they are stating, the income declared was not inline with the transactions and they are blocking it asper RBI guidelines. Now they are asking a bunch of things, including income documents, kyc documents, statment of account where I did the transactions. I really don't understand, why are they asking me these many documents, I did kyc before opening account. Any thoughts and suggestions on what to do?

What was the total transaction amount carried before the freeze.

Also what income did you give while opening account?
I did some transaction amount of around 1 lakh. I do have an annual income of 18Lakh+, which I declared...I particularly don't remember if they asked that. But asking income proof for savings account , I'm hearing for the first time.

This is a payments bank which isn't generally meant for such huge transactions.

As this was instantly after account opening triggered the freeze, provide the required docs, yes they do ask for docs for unfreezing.

Yeah I understand, I have never faced an issue like this. Since it's a savings account and they were asking income proof, I was confused and concerned. Thanks for your inputs!
