Introduction

The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) is set to launch RuPay credit cards with all major banks in the coming years. RuPay currently offers three main credit card variants:

1. RuPay Classic (Basic/Standard)
2. RuPay Platinum (Premium) // includes SwiggyOne, Spa, Gift Cards, and more.
3. RuPay Select (Super Premium)

There are also two sub-types under RuPay Select:

1. RuPay Select
2. RuPay Select Wellness (includes Gym, Spa, Golf programs, and more).

Key Features of RuPay Credit Cards

• International Acceptance: Supported by Discover Financial Services, Diners Club International, Pulse, and JCB.
• Free Benefits: Lounge access, wellness perks, and e-commerce offers.
• Bank Offers: RuPay cards are eligible for the same offers as Visa/Mastercard (e.g., 10% discounts on Amazon, Flipkart).
• No Discrimination Between Networks: If your Visa/Mastercard is lifetime free, the RuPay equivalent will also be lifetime free.

Now Before start one last and important thing, you guys should know. Banks never discrimination between Visa/mastercard vs RuPay. What does it mean ?

This means that if your Visa credit card is life time free then the same variant RuPay credit card will also be life time free or if you change your existing life time free Visa card to RuPay then your new RuPay variant card comes by default life time free.

2nd thing, Any offers given by banks are also applicable on your RuPay credit cards too like Axis, HDFC, ICICI, SBI CARD, BOB etc 10% discount offers on Amazon and Flipkart or other e-commerce websites (Ofcourse sometimes newly launch RuPay card is not eligible for e-commerce discount offers but that doesn't mean banks discrimination between Visa/mastercard vs RuPay. It simply meaning your card is new, bank systems are not updated, wait for few months or complaint to banks they will soon fix it. In fact, newly launch Yes bank Visa & RuPay both credit cards and few months back one person told Axis Magnus Visa Credit card is not working on e-com discount offers). So i hope it's clear. All bank offers are eligible on RuPay credit cards too.

RuPay Credit Card issuing banks and card variant list (Update till 22th May, 2022) -

Apart from this cards, RuPay Millennia and RuPay Regalia credit card also available, last year HDFC bank leak this cards on RuPay but currently no customers verified got this cards on RuPay.

@prc1990 SBI RuPay Platinum only apply through SBI branch. No online option.
Officially minimum 50k MAB required for SBI RuPay Platinum (1 lakh for Visa/master Platinum).
Unofficially some SBI branches issue RuPay Platinum without MAB.

No where written it is Select card.
But BOB RuPay Premier credit card bill generated card variant in the bill is written as "PRMIER SELECT CREDIT CARD"
I also mentioned in my post any Visa signature/Mastercard world card equivalent to RuPay Select.
BOB Visa Premier is a Visa signature card, there should be no doubt RuPay variant will be RuPay Select card.

Yes, Union bank is the first bank to launch RuPay JCB Select Wellness Credit card.

One of my friend got Union bank RuPay JCB Platinum debit card (not credit card).

He got 4 airport lounge access per year in Bangkok, Hong Kong, Incheon & Singapore.
2 airport lounge access per year on Dubai (Marhaba lounge)
Unlimited lounge access at China (33 lounges), Japan (43 lounges), (I think JCB card also offer unlimited lounge in Hawai but not mentioned in Union bank RuPay JCB Platinum DC booklet).

In city lounge access also available (The JCB Plaza) - Tokyo, Log Angeles, Singapore, Paris, Seoul, Bangkok, Hong kong.

Share your onboarding journey for this credit card. Also I guess Union Bank of India provide credit card only for the Savings account holders. This is what the information I received from the branch. Also no C2C application is acceptable.

I heard some zero balance basic account holders also get this card but maintain minimum 15k when you apply for this card.

General saving account - Deposit 15k and apply for Union bank RuPay JCB Platinum debit card, after card delivered, transfer 14k to other bank account and maintain minimum 1k as per general saving account required.

Same thing also work on SBI account - Deposit 50k and apply for RuPay Platinum debit card, after card delivered, transfer 45k to other bank account and maintain minimum 5k as per SBI general saving account required (Rural areas MAB required between 500 to 3000).

Let's see how things goes on, never had an experience applying a card from a Government Bank other than SBI.
But I must say there are a lot of documents required to apply this card from branch.
Bank people are very stringent when it comes to the documents.

1. ITR for last 2 years.
2. Salary Slip/Salary Certificate.
3. Bank Statement for 3 months.
4. Office ID Card
5. Other Bank Card Statement
6. AADHAR Card/PAN Card
7. Driving License/Passport.

Actually I didn't try for LTF Honestly because of 2 things:-

1. I read somewhere it is only 50,000/Annum to get the waiver of 499+GST.
2. Even if I don't hit the milestone, I will consider this as a small contribution for promoting a Payment gateway made in my Country.
At least I'm not going to pay anything to VISA/MasterCard anymore, that's for sure.
