Amazon Pay ICICI credit card wallet loading issue

My Amazon Pay ICICI credit card was activated on last 31 May, 2024. The first transaction I did was Mobikwik wallet loading of 1k as I read many users use the card to load wallet to get 1% cashback. The transaction was successful and I also received the cashback. Then I did a transaction on Amazon. But when I again tried to load Mobikwik wallet amounting 1k, I received this message - Screenshot_20240603_055302_Messages.jpg
So, I called ICICI customer care and they said that the Amazon Pay ICICI credit card is a retail credit card, so loading wallet or fund transfer transactions may be treated as fraudulent transactions and if I want to transfer fund, I have to use their business cards.

They also said at first that as loading wallet is a fund transfer transaction, to do that my card has to be normalised from their end and if any fraud happens for that, the bank won't be liable for that.

But they also told as my card is new, so the transaction got declined, after a few days this issue shouldn't happen.

Has any of you faced the same issue? And has ICICI blocked anyone's card for this reason?
 
this true.. use slowly for these places once you improve relationship with bank everything smooth till then transact wisely.
Thank you, but I already have 2 other ICICI cards and use one of them almost everywhere for UPI. That card is 3 months old. Could you please explain the "improve relationship" thing so that I can understand it better?

give a training period for each card upto 6 months. this is testing phase, anything you do in this period majority of the banks monitor and active accordingly. Like, blocking excess wallet loads, excess gold purchases, excess tax/rent payments etc. Again, this excess is variable parameter and varies from 1000rs. to 1L to 10L depends on your association with that bank/card.

Also, if you hold multiple cards from that bank it depends on account level. Ex: In ICICI you have majorly 3 CIBIL accounts, 1 - for all gemstones, 1 - cobrand, 1 - amzn. So, having improved relationship with 1 account doesn't help another new account. Or simple words consider 6 months period for each card.

I got your point. But the thing is I have a co-branded and a gemstone card which I got in a pre-approved offer after getting the co-branded card. And no CIBIL hit was there for the gemstone card. As per the latest cibil report there was no CIBIL hit even for the Amazon Pay card.

amzn will create different account in cibil, just wait .. ICCI slow in updating cibil. you'll understand better.

for now, amzn card is new so make all kind of transactions instead of only sensitive categories as mentioned.

I have 5 year old apay card with 5lakh cc limit, still i am having the exact same problem. after 50k i am getting this transaction failed issue. same text message, same reply from customer care. untill last month i was able to do transactions around 2-3 lakh amount easily

Mine Apay cc is also almost 6 years old, and i hve been using my cc fo amazon wallet load for almost 70k each month, but last month (December 2024), walletwas loaded with out any issue, but wallet to bank transfer was restricted to some amount, as after transfering 50k, i got alert, 'user limit of transfer exceeded'. So, i think there is no restriction on loading, but yes defenetly they have placed a limit on wallet to account transfer.
 
I got this issue on my Amazonpay new card(got in Dec 24 end). I called customer care and they mentioned the same fraud use-case. I said enable it. They enabled it after mentioning bank is not liable for loss of money. It also happened with Payzapp wallet and Mobikwik wallet as well but now loading works.
 
I also got this for adding to wallet using and when called they say I was doing it frequently but I actually did only 2-3 transactions in month all below 15k. They asked me why I am doing this I told this is needed for smaller transactions when card doesn't work. Then they said they will allow after an hour or I can try. But now I keep it minimal like 2-3 transactions in a month small amount less than 10k in one transaction. It works fine. Same time I have seen HDFC Cards never work on any wallet load other than payzapp- no message no call- it simply doesn't work.
