I had a word with the AMEX customer care via chat and they have told that the govt spend will not be considered.

While in the e-mail it clearly says there are no exclusions. If Anybody have more clarity on this pls do share.

The TnC doesn’t mention any exclusions .
I’ve used mine for purely tax payments to reach the milestone.
Let’s see.. worst case I’ll lost 1% fees I paid for using CC for tax payments.

Both regular rewards and milestone points getting in plat travel card
Charges attached 2nd entry 50k added 1750/- extra…it’s increased nowadays

Thanks for the reply. I have done the same, paid my taxes and some other random spends. They have clearly mentioned 'no restrictions' too. Hopefully we get the vouchers..

It comes from AmericanExpress@email.americanexpress.com

They share a code which needs to be filled on a website, then they will share code with you on mobile (can select Amazon/Tata Cliq/MakeMyTrip)

EDIT: Just redeemed, it goes to Gyftr with balance of your cashback (got 7.5k) - you can select multiple vouchers of 500/1000/2000/5000 from it until amount gets redeemed fully
