Amex Card Acceptance Thread

As of today 18/02/2023 Amex Card is accepted at every PineLabs and Paytm POS Machine .

Amex acceptance is very erratic. For the same DMART it got rejected in one POS machine but got accepted in another.

Usually some merchants have separate Amex POS machines which they will be charges less MDR, they will keep it aside.

Yes. Seen this in some big textile and jewellery shops. Pothys, Kalyan, Bhima, etc.

True, I've seen a lot of stores with a seperate POS for AMEX.

Amex declined on pine labs pos machine at croma,

Merchant has disabled for amex in this pos. He needs to activate it else he call the merchant services and activate it.

Due to high MDR. Amex losing Corporate customers(Big Chains).

Now they are charging 1.30%+gst (Mswipe pos machine)for grocery

Lenskart is accepting Amex and they are using the RazorPay Pos machine

Even some small online website accepts Amex through Cashfree payments gateway and not accepting through RazorPay.
As per the information from RazorPay Merchant,RazorPay charges 3%+gst for AMEX.

Maybe some discount for Corporate companies

Yes it happens many a times. For this remember the counter number on whose POS where the card was declined and post purchase raise a complaint citing the same online on its website. You’ll get a call within a couple of days of raising the complaint and then as well specify the issue faced by you. Within 2 weeks on your next visit the issue should resolve. Here its important to specify counter number

I have applied for MRCC amex credit card but they rejected application "After reviewing your application, we have determined that your existing/previous American Express® Card payment history does not meet our internal criteria to move forward with your current request. As a result, we are not able to process your application."

Even my existing amex credit card have good payment history
