I used to hold an Amex Platinum Travel card.

Whenever I called the helpline, They would ask me to share all my details (card number, dates, cvv) with them. No other bank asks for all such details. Was really not comfortable with such information sharing.

Does anyone else feel that this is a bit risky?

Nah. They asked me for all the details. I had a long discussion with the executive. She insisted that there is no other way. I wonder if they are continuing with that practice.

If you are calling customer care then you can very well share these details. It is for verification purpose only.
They wants to confirm whether they are talking to the card member

CVV number or the security number that is printed on the front side of the card.

CVV is 4 digit (front side)
CSC Card security code 3 digit (Back side)

I meant that only. I don’t have the card anymore. So, just wrote CVV to make my point.
