The clue is literally in the context.

Whether it's 1 client or 100. That's not customers problem.

The customer is paying them for their service. It's not free fund.

man, this entire thread reeks of entitleness. some of these points mentioned are just de-humanizing, expecting humans to be at 100% always.
This is the problem, i am not expecting them to be 100% right, but have the courtesy to read message properly and take context clue.

1 - lets assume it was 41k, how would it fetch any bonus points?
2 - why would I ask for bonus points on a card that has USP of 4lk spend.
3 - This is not the first time this has happened, I have received my platinum charge card for past 2 weeks, and so far they have not been able to tell if I will get 1lk points, 1.25lk or 1.35lk.

Everytime I message its a diff story.

FFS stop defending Amex Support. they have turned to shit. Its high time people accept it.

Even I used to shill for them hard back in 2018-19. Now its just plain shit.

Brother thats not the point of this post. I contacted them again and this time some other agent was there, and I copy pasted same line and he confirmed at 4lk I will get 25000 bonus points. Total 40k.

Thats the product benefit and that guy/gal knew it. What I am pointing out is that Amex support has become shit.
 
Looks like everyone is not defending Amex support, but clarifying that customer support executives can make mistakes and that's okay.

nobody is saying that amex cs is great. it's become bad, yes. but this is not an example of the same.

CS are humans. Humans make mistake. You can't seem to wrap your head around this fact.

Even the seasoned members here replied 820, it means the emphasis on bonus is not easily read.

As I always say amex gets better publicity due to the referral program and people always defend it. It's pity that many recommend amex even for newbies too.

Nevertheless CS are humans too and you didn't depict the full story in the first post.

but when people started defending amex while having their signature as referral link, its maddening. You cant just close your eyes to such things.

Amex customer support has gone to shit, they used the be my go to and had been awesome. Now its plain shit.
