Devaluation Amex gold collection devaluation

Why cc issuers are targeting amazon and fk vouchers ? Whats wrong ?
They have to issue them instantly and settle them up immediately. And the impact will be because we are buying products/commodities/utility bills which are tough to maintain profitability. (Imagine with 5 referrals any user would have made 40000 MR points which is equivalent almost to 24K+18K collection and worth 16K FK or Amazon vouchers).

Coming to miles and hotel vouchers they do it on distress inventory. And we won't understand the price hike because they won't have any tangible value in miles and hotel vouchers.

Actually its Amazon and FK who are now driving projects for their profitability.. They have been burning cash and now globally are cutting.. So they are renegotiating with Banks for better prices which inturn impacts reward rates and others.. Smartbuy charge for amz pay vouchers is a classic example of pass through

So Amex has silently devalued its 18K and 24K Gold Collection. Except for the Taj Voucher, all other vouchers' values have been decreased. However, there is still a great amount of confusion as both new and old values are still showing on different pages of Amex.

For the new values, here's the link - https://www.americanexpress.com/in/credit-cards/membership-rewards-card/

And here's the snapshot (for those who fear opening links)

However, the old values are still visible here - https://www.americanexpress.com/in/rewards/membership-rewards/redeem-points/gold-collection.html

And here's the snapshot of old values

Amex is known for its stability and consistency in providing rewards and benefits to its users irrespective of the devaluation going around in the industry.

What's your opinion on this new change in the Gold Collection?

Amex itself clearly shows and proves that the value of its own Rs.10000 Taj voucher is worth less than 10000 x 8000 ÷ 14000 = Rs.5714.
Less than 5714, because you can get Amazon pay for at least 10% discount
